Sincerely, the Oilers should call about Michael McCarron, fits what they do and what they need. Pat Maroon would help as well, imo.

But no, no to Maroon. He is very old and slow now. Not the kind of player that is worth any cost whatsoever.

He would and I'm confused lol. McCarron kills penalties too which his huge.

Kane will be back to fill the role of enforcer/shit disturber. But Kane will not be enough. And adding a coke machine that can’t play Oilers hockey, who compromises the ability of our team isn’t the answer either.
The solution, is that the players we already have need to add an element of DIRT to their game.
It’s not some random 4th line face puncher who can barely skate that did the following, it was:
MacKinnon who slew footed an already injured Drai.
Landeskog who elbowed Yamo out of the NHL.
Kieth who cracked Sedins jaw with an elbow.
Tkachuk who gave McD 5 unanswered jabs to the face and back of his head.
Hedman who bloodied Gallagher into complete ineffectiveness.
Pietro who tried to chop Drais arm off.
Etc etc etc.
The answer must come from within the room. And yes they do need to add that element to their game if they want to beat any type of opponent out there, Panthers included.

I don’t buy it, there’s no such thing as a deterrent in today’s NHL these days, and often if you retaliate all you end up doing is hurting your team on the scoreboard. All these big slugs end up doing is costing you because they don’t have the feet or hands to keep up when the hockey gets fast. End of the day it’s not about size, it’s about your speed, skill and in playoff hockey your willingness to battle which most guys ramp up during playoffs.
I was always a much smaller guy at every level I played but I was fast, strong on my skates and loved to get into the mix. Often times I was wrecking bigger guys because when they met me, they were getting the strongest part of my body in my hip at their knee or thigh. That was my deterrent, come at me along the wall or in the corners and I’m gonna get low where my base is the strongest and I’m gonna drive my hip into the side of your lower half. I was a wrecking ball, a business maker for orthopedic surgeons.

Maroon is 36 and has lost a step. considering he was not that quick to start with? McCarron? I like the fact he is playing 12 to 13 minutes a night. signed for one more year after this one--So I would be curious what the ask would be
In fairness our response was going out and killing Vancouver in games 6 and 7 and winning the series on their home ice by shutting them down.

I see this as part of getting us ready for the playoffs, IMO Ekholm is probably one of it not the best mentors for young D. Just playing with him, getting some advice and tweaking his game a bit will go a long way in ensuring Emberson is playoff ready.McTonyBrar said:

Nothing about these changes scream to me Mike Matheson is the answer, I'm not entirely against him, but he isn't at the top of my wanted list.

Maroon lost a step 2 years ago. He’s a shell of his former of self and I can’t believe people think we should get him back.
I’m not familiar with mccarron but I assume he’s a tough guy type player? Where would he fit in on the roster?
