I'd rather go for Pulock
Man if you could get and afford both it would be a major win. Don't think Brock would come here. But Pulok might waive. Would love to get him. Goodbye Akey and a 1st. (of course some money goes with them too.)
Lou would love to get his mitts on a guy like Sammy O'Really.

If we have to trade Sammy we need to get Pulok and Chris Terreri.

Thre Provorov trade thread on the mains is wild. He won’t come cheap. Too many teams out there needing to shore up defence. And it’ll be the same story next year. And the next. If we keep going after rental after rental.

Why it might be nice and prudent if we could just fill that hole once and for all with a guy like Jiricek. There’s risks there but plenty of reward.

The f***. Is Provorov being overrated based on his name value? Huge minus player last 3 years. Only 6 pts on the year, thought he had more offense in his game.

Just pulled up Ryan Pulocks advanced stats. They read like a successful defensive defenseman. What i remember of this guy was a huge transition guy pinching alot and a big clapper. Or do i remember wrong?

EDIT: Either way i hope Bowman is on the phone right now.

Huge transition guy and big shot I can get behind. I really don’t want a shutdown type. If we wanted no headache no flash defence, we aren’t far from having that already with Emberson.

What we need is someone who can make an impact. Think what Ekholm does in the O zone but at a reduced level. Think Theodore who could clap one in from the 2nd pair (before Pietro regressed). I don’t want a steady eddy back there. We need to aim higher.

I always liked the idea of Pulock as an Oiler. Not sure about that contract but he’s got clapper and if he’s good defensively on top of that, or like others say he’s good at outlets, he’s probably worth it.

He’s from Edmonton too right?

Seeing contenders like Vegas and Tampa move on from vets who no longer move the needle or are worth their cost like Pacioretty, Marchessault and Stamkos makes me with the Oilers had the balls to do anything about RNH and some of the other passengers on this team.

Yes RNH needs to get going offensively but you understand he is there for another reason as well right?

His contract is a non-starter. There's a ton of teams that can afford his contract right now if he became available and was a good fit. We are not one of those teams.
Its unlikely we can make a deal.
Lou doesn't like to retain. Evander Blame and a !st for Pulock 20 percent retained would work. A bit of a gamble.

Who can afford him that he agrees to waive his NTC for?
Columbus, Calgary, Anaheim, Buffalo San Jose, Utah, Chicago, Nashville, Winnipeg (@50%), Detroit (@50%)

I think we need Kane more than we need Pulock but that's just my opinion

Would they not have the cap space at the TDL? My thinking is, if the Oilers are waiting for the TDL to make a trade on D, it's going to be for a big-ticket, legit #2-4 defenseman. Pulock is definitely a guy you get at the deadline. (But I'm not sure how much cap Edmonton will have by then.)

He can move the puck. He will be better sheltered here and he's better than friggin Stecher, Dermott. He's played top pair minutes and has some physicality to him. Whats not to like?

I’ll have to give him a watch. Analytically grades out to just meh.

Just depends on the version of Kane we will be getting. If he’s playing back at his peak he’s a playoff warrior. If he’s playing like he did last year he’s meh to liability.

Thought he was from Edmonton too. But Db says no. Maybe confusing him for Pelech or other similar name.

Maybe they could get RNH drunk enough to waive his NMC and then swap him.
Maybe he'd like it in NY? They seem to be a pretty good fit in terms of what they need to shake things up. And they have lots of interesting pieces potentially available.

I'd love to see Kakko in Edmonton.
