Is Jensen on the block? That does seem like a really good fit. We just need someone who is definitely a top 4 dman to play with Nurse. Kulak - Emberson would be an excellent 3rd pair.

I’d probably go crazy and take Karlsson for the right price, hopefully at least 50% retained. I love the player but I would lose sleep over this if I were the GM and actually traded for him. Super risky but also great potential.
No he isn't. Staios was just on with Gregor raving about him. They aren't trading him.

I've never been really impressed with the rangers in all honesty especially when we face them.
Even the W/L record shows it. 7-2-1.
Yeh we always seem to have good games against that "juggernaut" in the East.

Back to Igor though:

I found this quote interesting: "The Rangers became dangerously dependent on their goaltending"

Meanwhile, we coach to create a solid system to make up for the non-elite goaltending we have. I think that system is more sustainable rather than relying on the ONE guy. We did after all put up a better fight against the Cats than Shesty and the Rags.

Also this other one I just find hilarious to say about a goalie that's been known as the "best in the world":

"Might be my least favorite athlete of all time. All of the talent in the world complete wasted on a f***ing idiot. He can go f*** himself. Born f***ing loser."

Goaltending really brings out the most extreme reactions when it comes to Hockey lol.

Rags getting pumped again.

Seen on Rangers board:

"Time to think about trading Igor. He is problem. He plays and can’t make a save. I think his wanting all that money, the rest of the team doesn’t play hard in front of him."

Yeh that piss poor D core and giving up 2 breakaways every game isn't the issue. It's Igor.

Anyways, you guys can proceed to fawn over the Igor possibility. :p
Rags gets thumped because of NJD play out of their own zone and high end defensive capability. Which you dont seem to have much respect for.

K now explain the last 5 losses. My comments have nothing to do with NJD or Rags opponents anyways. No opinion was made on that either way.

Is SHesterkin a UFA this year?

He can be a very good goalie. He has struggled a bit this year though. You just can't go pay goalies what he wants. It's absurd.

He is around 13/14th in a lot of metrics. You better be top 5 all of the time to want close to 10 mill
Last I heard he REJECTED 11M (!) and wants more than that. But yeh of course he's an elite goalie, but I wouldn't touch that for the goaltending position.

Jensen was a guy I thought they should look at a year or two ago but he’s getting up there in age. He didnt have a good season last year, looking better this year but I question if he can keep it up through the entire year and for a playoff run. Zub should be the target if Sense are considering making changes but he’s likely not available either.

I wanna like Risto as a target and it’s hard to ignore how he’s been playing but feel like he might fall off not playing in Torts system. Worth a call though, see what the cost would be with retention.

Another name that’s interesting is Will Borgen in Seattle. Big body, loves to bang, skates well pretty good defender and has a decent outlet. He was trending in the right direction the last two years in terms of elevating minutes and competition but the arrival of Montour pushed him back down the lineup which has probably been demoralizing after he was starting to work his way into the top 4. He’s in his prime and has good NHL experience now. Like Fabbro this is another guy who might be ready to pop with a change of scenery, and by pop I mean just be a solid everyday mid pairing. Cheaper expiring contract and likely cheap to acquire, Seattle probably gonna have to clear cap at some point. Could be a decent low risk gamble

We definitely have to find new sellers. Rasmus Andersson isn't going to be for sale if the Flames are fighting for a playoff spot. And sure Savard and Murphy are still available but I don't want them, and it feels like Chicago and Montreal want to ditch them

So yeah, even though I don't know Borgen I like that there are other names to consider

Don't trade Bouchard. You won't find a replacement with his skill-set, shot, and puck moving abilities. He's still young too.

If it's

Tkachuk
Zub

for

Bouchard
Arvidsson
Pick

Man ... I'd really have to think about that. Maybe you could bring back Tyson Barrie on the cheap to play PPQB.

Curiously enough, it seems like the opposite? Typically in his career Risto has gotten a 40-50% offensive zone start. This year he’s at 20%
Not pumping his stats then. How are his minutes in general? Last year I'm pretty sure he was strictly 3rd pair, with Walker on the 2nd pair.

I don't even buy that he's improved this year, you seeing anything on that?

I mean I guess I'd expand it this way

Bouchard, Arvidsson, pick for Tkachuk, Zub

Evander Kane for Erik Karlsson @50% retained

Skinner out for a goalie

Kapanen McDavid Hyman
Tkachuk Draisaitl Podkolzin
RNH Henrique Brown
Janmark Philp Perry

Ekholm Karlsson
Nurse Zub
Kulak Emberson

Not saying I'd do it, just thinking about it though is ... interesting.

He single handedly carried the Rangers thru the playoffs last year.

This is why I worry about Risto. It's only 1 game I looked at though. I don't want to see this puck movement on this Oilers team. Risto's method of outletting pucks: Close your eyes and hope for the best.

With all these posters suggesting the Oilers go big game hunting to get some players. Someone needs to go.

Taylor Hall - Hawks aren't gonna want much for him and would retain a lot of salary depending what we give. He gives us some speed back and did learn defence in Boston. I think he would do great on a run.

Bowen Byrom - not sure what it would take but the Sabres would trade him, plays both sides

Klim Kostin - We could use some toughness and he had decent speed.

All players we could get, not pipe dreams.

Taylor Hall’s injuries have robbed him of a lot of his speed.

Bowen Byram is an interesting idea.

Klim Kostin is probably a guy we look at in the off season at league minimum or a little more. He doesn’t bring much beyond toughness.
