Comparable market comparables. Varying degrees of erratic, poor and/or incredibly cheap among all of them. AND they ask their cities for money which offends you.

Our budget in the context of the poor exchange rate is massive, and save for Vancouver (maybe) our guy is the only one in that group that will continue to empty the wallet.

That doesn't surprise me at all. Holland by his own admission was about as passive as they come in terms of trying to upgrade his team, the Ekholm trade happened because there was massive pressure from ownership and the players. Katz wants to re-sign Connor and get him a cup, so I'm assuming he's pushing pretty hard for them to do something.

Daryl himself isn't getting any younger and has been dealing with significant health issues. No way he's a patient man at this point.

I'd definitely prefer if he would personally interfere a little less but you can't accuse him of not caring.

The most frustrating period for me as a fan of the Oilers was when it was blatantly apparent that Tippett needed to be moved on from, but Holland just would not do it.

It took Katz calling him to the carpet when we were in LA for Holland to do the obvious. If he didn't we might not have made the playoffs that year.

I think it's because he is due a raise in the offseason, and they might want to save cap for other kids coming up. Maybe even Byram.

This offseason Bowman needs to erase JJ's mistakes and clear out the dead weight/aging players. Trade Arvidsson and Henrique, possibly Kane depending on how he looks in the playoffs, let every UFA walk and start looking for depth players in their mid to late 20's.
