Vejmelka is the clear, realistic target for the Oilers imo. He's a pending UFA on a team who isn't a contender, who might be willing to move him. You get a chance to see him, and test him out, maybe he plays well enough for the Oilers to extend him, like the Avs did with Blackwood. I hope Bowman is working at it. My guess/prediction... they don't get a major addition in net. If they add anyone in net, i'm guessing it's closer to a 2B, than a 1B. I hope I'm wrong.

A 2B would still be an upgrade tho..

I'd also be calling to see if the Hawks would part with Soderblom.

Who has been our most consistently bad dman? Bouchard. I can't think of any of the others that have so many bad games. I say trade him, and get a dman that plays defense with energy. Put Nurse or Klingberg on the PP. Bouchard hasn't does much there anyway.

Coaches rarely criticize their goalies in public unless things are very bad. And things are very bad. My hope is that Bowman and co. aren't braindead like Gregor, Rishaug, and Spector, and understand the urgency and importance of bringing in a guy who can at least play an average game, because at this point, there is no chance the Oilers win the cup with a 900 goalie. None.

The good thing is that it you almost have to try to bring in a guy worse than Skinner.
