JJ said he'll have to see a specialist and they'll go from there. Said his health and getting him healthy was the more important thing right now. Reading between the lines, he might be setting up an LTIR f***ery in the future.
They can probably just skip the f***ery and go straight to legitimate LTIR options as they try to get him healthy.

Kane was noticeably injured this year, no power in his skating, inconsistent ability to shoot, behind the play and a liability on defense in a year when everyone else was embracing the new coach and his system. The revelation that he was rather seriously injured is about all that kept the wolves at bay with regards to his reputation as an impact NHL player.

Still need to get 29 extended before we can call it a successful summer.

But all the moves today were pretty clearly made with a handful of incoming mega contracts in mind.

Also good god likely makes it easier to get the Draisaitl and Bouchard deals inked after a day like this.

How do you not feel confident about the direction of the team with this man at the rudder? Holy f*** what a day. I don't even think 05 was that explosive of a July 1.

Missing Adam Boqvist so we can have two Adam, two Connor, two Skinner, two Brown

That aside, Boqvist and Pinto would be unreal and an LTIR Kane

Kane seems like the type that would be perfectly ok to take a year off on LTIR at full pay and then go all-in on his contract year.

Suits everyone really.

If Kane goes on LTIR for the year, I give JJ credit for convincing Evander/Milstein to do it as well. Being an agent, he probably has a better perspective of what players go through. Kane has had some gruesome injuries the last 2 years. It’s probably best for him to rest/have surgery and heal and not worry about a timeline.

JJ wouldn't say Kane was visiting a specialist if a trade was on the horizon. Seeing a specialist is an indication of a LTIR situation.

Kane missed the last playoff games and publicly announced what his injury was before the playoffs started and was seen grimacing in pain when he did play. Sounds like a LTIR development.

Rishaug reported this morning that Kane has not been asked to lift his no-trade at any point.

All this correlates to Kane`s likelihood of spending the regular season on LTIR.

I can't see anyone questioning his eligibility for LTIR.

I believe the training camp roster is set once Holloway and Broberg sign.

Wouldn't mind Jackson handling 29s new deal after seein what he has done today
I just don't think drai is gonna be in the mood for any kind of discount seeing how wrll he putb preformed the previous contract.

Hoping for 8 yests x 13 mill and ill consider that a discount.

Like people have mentioned ever one taking a discount , guess nurse missed that memo. And i really nurse. He is b just a little over paid. But by av few signings today not by much any more 😉

I can't believe we actually just upgraded both wingers by a massive margin on our 2nd line and kept the rest of our bottom 6 intact from a team 2 goals away from winning the cup, and that was without their 5 million dollar power forward winger for most of the finals.

I said this a week ago, but the Oilers are going to finish 1st in the West and are going to win the cup this year if they stay healthy. That's my prediction. This forward group is deeper than any forward group in the NHL and we haven't even gone through the trade deadline yet.
Lot of media been saying this last season that home ice not that important, I think for Oilers it’s huge. We have home ice against Florida, we win no question in my mind even with our injuries.
