Good guess because he's the same age as Derek Ryan was as an age 29 rookie in the NHL.I’ll guess David Tomasek.

Filip Zadina?I’d probably say no just based on Stauff saying higher profile.
If Holland wouldn't even give him a chance then Bowman probably won't either.Filip Zadina?
We're talking about European UFAs. They're all guys that NHL GMs have passed over. Zadina certainly falls into that higher profile category. If Holland wouldn't even give him a chance then Bowman probably won't either.
Vitali KravtsovExcellent, you're better than AI.
"I'll give you a hint, Derek Ryan, but he's not an ex-Golden Bear, but in terms of a guy who excelled as a top player in a top European league"
"Bigger than Derek Ryan & Gaetan Haas, average to above average sized guy."
"A positional need that Edmonton has"
"Is he Canadian? No"
Oilers Quinn Hughes?Damien Carfagna. A smart signing by our GM.
Late bloomerHow is he similar to Ryan though?
He has NHL potential. He should give it one more year and hope to be injury free.
The point is he is leaving the organization. He has NHL potential. He should give it one more year and hope to be injury free.
Technically he’s an RFA so they can qualify him and keep his rights. The point is he is leaving the organization.
I think every NCAA Free agent should look at the Oilers. With such little prospect depth comes more opportunity.
I agree with that, but if you are good, then instead of guys like Klingberg, Dermott, Stetcher you might get a shot.Lots of opportunities at the AHL level. But at the NHL level we don’t have a lot of patience for the majority of younger players. We will see if it changes under Bowman over the next couple years.
Have we not been playing Emberson (although he has been struggling lately) on the bottom pairing for the majority of the season?Lots of opportunities at the AHL level. But at the NHL level we don’t have a lot of patience for the majority of younger players. We will see if it changes under Bowman over the next couple years.
All the more reason to move him at the draft. If he gets traded then we actually get back a good asset and Holloway doesn’t get convinced by Broberg’s agent to sign an offer sheet or the Bkues don’t even bother doing it since it’s more then likely Edmonton matches at 2.4.
Maybe this year, but the roster opens up quite significantly in 2026-27.Lots of opportunities at the AHL level. But at the NHL level we don’t have a lot of patience for the majority of younger players. We will see if it changes under Bowman over the next couple years.
Honestly, I think it has more to do with the player leadership group than the coaches. You make a lot of good points.
Broberg didn’t want to be here. Walman is probably a good replacement for him.
They will need to find a way to replace Holloway. I think the team really needs to seriously consider a bit of a retool especially with their forwards group and goaltending in the off. I think they really need to make some difficult decisions. (And I am talking about players like RNH, Hyman, Nurse etc).
More than that I think really needs to figure out some philosophical decisions about how they run this team. Because a lot of what their doing isn’t really working. Drafting and development continues to be a problem. This team is so apprehensive towards some young and inexperienced players. A lot of these guys can’t even get a regular shifts in a single game let alone for any period of time.
We have seen guys like Holloway, Broberg, Lavoie, Kemp etc just get yoyo’d around. Kesselring couldn’t get a shift. And people can blame Holland but not sure its all on him.
The forwards and the goaltending have been terrible this year and yet guys like Savoie, Philp, Rodrigue etc can’t get much of an opportunity. Sure Savoie is young. But theres just no patience with these guys. Where does it originate from? Management? Coaching? Leadership group?
Same old problems regardless of GM, coach etc.
Kravtsov is Canucks property.Vitali Kravtsov
At the draft the Blues were already very certain the Oilers were in a predicament. Broberg had already spoken out about his trade request and it was likely that both he and Holloway had reasoning to ask for more money on second contracts. There was never going to be an alternative where we came out favorably. They just didn't have the leverage. At the draft? Hell, St. Louis would have moved Buchnevich for him and retained. Maybe we win the cup. Instead we hold him til he turns to dirt and leaves for nothing.
At last year deadline Blues wanted Holloway and Broberg for Buchnevich. I honestly think the Oilers win the cup with Buch last year.At the draft the Blues were already very certain the Oilers were in a predicament.
