Rumors Proposals Thread Post Deadline Apocalypse 3rd Times A Charm Stu Stu Stupider Management May the Schwartz be with You

Binnington was so highly thought of that the Blues were paying him to play for another organization's AHL team.
Take a look who else was on the Rampage that last year in the AHL? Other blues prospect. The year before he was loaned to Providence because the blues had two other guys on their farm teams. Goalies need to play. If he was a skater I would agree. Take a look at his numbers in the AHL. No matter where he played he had a good save % and that got their attention

Please post the link where you have BROBERGS AGENT saying they were asking for 1.8. I believe that was it was Hallway. All comments from Brobergs camp was he never reminded hid trade request.

And again I am TALKING.DIRECTLY ABOUT THE OFFER SHEETS NOT THINGS SPECULATED THAT MIGHT HAVE HAPPENED BEFORE.

My comment was about the fact we could not match Brobergs offer sheet. And again I said "please do not trading playing X to a mystery team". That is pure speculation or wishful thinking. Oilers f***ed situation up.

Lol- you want me to post a link from his agent? Because this happens all the time? You’re being ridiculous.

Arvidsson and Skinner signed for 7M. Thats your cap. They also could have moved Kulak. Don’t give me this bullshit that they were unaffordable.

I’m 34 and I didn’t start watching till after they won. I’m confident I won’t see it either. Maybe another few game 7 heartbreaks with our next 2 generational players.
Man, that's the thing. When we lost game 7 to The Panthers, it dawned on me that I had waited a full 18 years to watch the exact same disappointing result happen... I just haven't made watching hockey a priority ever since even though I still do like chatting on HF for some strange reason. Maybe it's because misery loves company. lol

The worst part is that it was so easy to build a Cup winning team with the Oilers situation back in 2015. We proceeded to f*** it up by hiring the 2nd worst GM in NHL history over Bill Zito. Then we had a team who'd bled a lot of assets and had a horrible cap situation, but could still be easily turned into a Cup Winner in 2019 by letting a few bad contracts expire, making some smart draft picks, budget signings, and impact trades. We f***ed it up again by hiring the worst GM in the NHL over Bill Zito AGAIN. Then in spite of Ken Holland's attempts to sabotage our team with Campbell, Nurse, Kassian type signings, and AA, Kulak, and Henrique type trades, not to mention literally designing a poison pill contract for his own team in Connor Brown. We make a miracle run to Game 7 off McDavid, Draisaitl, and Bouchard heroics. And we somehow AGAIN come up with one of the worst CEO-GM duos in the league in Jackson-Bowman. At least this time we didn't interview and reject Bill Zito?

Does it really matter anymore?

I know it's mcdavid and all but hour do you justify giving mcdavid 16/17 million after signing drai for 14 and he had the season he is having AFTER signing the deal????

And I'm sure there is gonna be some outrageous contacts given outc this summer that will make people wonder who okays these deals 🤣🤣

My guess is that the contract won't be $16/17M. In fact if I had to guess right now I'd say $14.5M is more likely than over $15M.

I think there was an article on The Athletic that interviewed the agent about the offer sheet. Don’t remember the details but around January Broberg’s agent asked for 1.8 and Holland wanted to wait until after the season. After the playoffs Broberg’s agent wanted to wait and they ended up having 4 teams interested in doing an offer sheet but the Blues were the first ones that got the their 2nd back to make the offer.

One of those teams was Calgary, because their owner has a small pee pee.

I figured the same. Mcdavid is pretty humble and I didn't think he would think he is 2 plus million better then drai. And I'm pretty sure they both had a gentlemans agreement on signing and moving forward together

Said it in PGT, I wonder if they will consider shutting down Ekholm for the remainder of the regular season. They need him to be as healthy as possible for the playoffs. The guy is the lynchpin back there. Might let Kane get some games prior to the playoffs.
I hope they do this with someone, in order to get Kane into some games. I was just watching some old Leon highlights, and obviously Kane was scoring all over them. I'd love to see that guy back at his best for us. If he can get into some games, and we can rest one of the other old dogs who's played all year, even better.

Sure the Oilers in theory had money that they could have moved out to make room for Holloway and Broberg.

However, I just dont see how realistic it is. Both guys just signed as free agents and have NTC clauses. Trading them within the week would have been challenging. It would have sent the wrong message to future free agents. It also didn't make sense at the time as both were proven goal scorers.

I think everyone's being way to hard on Bowman. He was on the job for a couple weeks and prioritized the Draisaitl deal. The real problem was Jackson giving guys trade protection and Holland letting his RFAs get to that situation.

Another reason Bowman and Jackson should both be canned is not going after fabbro or Fowler who have both been integral in both of their teams playoff pushes. One of the reasons St Louis is doing what they are doing is cause they grabbed Fowler for less than walman cost who minimized the loss of parsyko. Guys got like 28 points in 40ish games for a 2nd rounder and a nothing prospect.
