Well as of right now they haven't had Kane for the entire season and Brown + Henrique + Arvidsson + Skinner have essentially given them close to league minimum production for the price of 15M. I think that's probably a good place to start if you're looking for upgrades with moving cap out.
Brown and Henrique have been effective 5v5 players that have outscored when our scoring lines are not on the ice. The Oilers have been a team that has struggled the depth on that area of the roster throughout the McDavid era.

I don't think you're being realistic if you think we're finding more impactful bottom six players offering up closer to league minimum in lieu of the $3m-$4m the Oilers had to pursue these FAs.

Maybe we will do the same, for Savard.
2nd, 3rd, 6th, 7th this year lol
They won't trade for Savard, though they will overpay for someone underwhelming.

What they should do is trade Pickard for Quick and Skinner for Vanecek, they go into next offseason with a wide open goaltending position to sign Adin Hill to big money if he makes it to UFA status.

I mean we have almost 5.5 million or whatever in space. It's no excuse

I mean he can make moves for sure. We will see what he does.

I just view the roster as having a lot of holes or items to fix.

5.2 will run out quick if hes trying to fix F, D and G. Like I said he might have to target lower cap players.

Vegas has their 2nd this year OR their 1st next year to spend. And a couple of decent prospects so you are right.

Dallas is the scary one.
Vegas doesnt have a first next year. They have one in 2027. Their prospects aren't great either compared to what other teams, like the Oilers, can give up. They'll get outbid by any team after the same player.

Here's the tweet from freedman in case anyone wants to see it.

And the follow up…

Vegas does have their first next year…if they don’t spend the 2nd this year.

It’s less. We are already using LTIR for the year.

Most other contenders have management groups that actually help the team, here they just shoot the team in the foot over and over again.
