That’s the thing, and something that the org needs to look at. This is arguably the last best year to push for a cup before things get even harder for the org with guys ages and the cap.

However due to all the moves this summer that have back fired and so many guys having bad seasons…the team has to decide. Is this a roster they actually believe in that 1 move can push to being a potential cup winner? Or does this org need to hold on to every asset as they can to fix this mess in the summer. Arvidssons NMC is a massive issue.

We might not. All the smoke about Kane trying to come back before playoffs is an issue. But even then. We have f*** all for valuable assets. We actually only have 4.3 mill in space right now. Which is actually less at the deadline cause going into LTIR means Klingbergs contract dings us fully. We only have 3.5 mill right now. Anything else has to be money out.

The Oilers have the absolute worst media covering the team so they won't actually investigate anything outside of what the team tells them.

It's always the guys out in Toronto that have the real news regarding the Oil. In this case Friedman had it.

No they traded that with Huberdeau for Tkachuk, but I did just read they can still trade their 2026 1st and the Jones pick slides to 2027. So they have that.
But they have NOTHING for prospects from what I can tell

We can’t compete with what Florida or Dallas or maybe even Vegas can add. We don’t have the assets, we don’t have the cap and we don’t have the management.
Our hope for the offseason is that Skinner decides to play hockey, McDavid bounces back and then the rest of the roster collectively remembers how to play hockey.
We aren’t getting substantial help, we aren’t even getting middling help.
The team will add a few depth guys and then pray. It’s what we need to accept.
