The league needs to fix this bullshit LTIR rule. It's absurd that we are all cheering for Kane to miss the whole season. Or how Vegas/Tampa would be happy that their guys being out allowed them to load up.

Like think about how that looks to casual fans, cheering for good players to not play? It's off putting for the league as a whole.

Thanks bro I'm not trying to troll with that post I'm just saying Bowmans trade deadlines have been underwhelming historically so I'm just prepared to he disappointed but hope to be wrong.

I mean duh, but it's the rules so whatever. Tampa would have traded Killorn and still won, The oilers would have traded Kane and probably see not much difference.

The only difference is it would have cost us assets to move Kane.

Hey I have an idea…let’s “upgrade” this website the week of the trade deadline. It’s a relatively quiet week, heh heh.

Shouldn’t be an issue given how smooth and competent they are at this, right?… (I mean they couldn’t even spell correctly in the banner notice, lol).

We're expeting server maintenance on March 3rd starting at midnight, there may be downtime during the work.

I dont think the admins have much control over this site. The last update that broke the site for a while was foisted on them unaware.

Corporate ownership sucks
 
That stuff by Jackson was said by him 2 days on that podcast (John Shannon and Darren Millar). How the hell don’t Boob or Seravalli know this?

Kane will be 34 this summer and after having missed most of the last 2 seasons I think his time with the club is drawing to a close. If he was part of a multi player deal with another club then I would be tempted to trade him ----but I don't think anybody else will bite on it. Too many issues.

When it comes to assets, the Oilers don't have much to trade with when you get past their 2 superstars. In terms of what other clubs would want it probably comes down to one of Savoie, O'Reilly, Lachance or a 1st rounder (again). So the same sort of arguments arise about sacrificing part of the future for the "win now" philosophy. Not easy decisions but some of the "win now" moves from last summer aren't looking too good.

Crazy that he went from a 70 point player last year to 20 this year. He must have hit a wall at 35.

Cant see him being an upgrade for the Oilers top 6. I think a team like Ottawa might be interested if they take that 3.2M, have Nashville eat 1.6 then have another team eat 800k.

I agree.

I don't regret the signing at all. He was a force for us and while a person I wouldnt get along with or support outside of sports ( even before the political stuff of the last year) He was a joy to watch in his games here and gave us great moments. He had a swagger that we have lacked for a while and clearly we are missing it this year. Hs mean streak is exactly what the needed when we signed him and still needs to this day.

However, He's Klingberg at this point and probably not going to touch the highs he brought us over the last few years.


Thank you Evander for all you gave us but its time to say auf wiedersehen and move the salary/cap for another player/s.

It's awesome that we have some certainty about the Kane LTIR. Some pundits were talking about how this was unknown, that maybe we won't have that space

This tells me also that we are planning to use the space. It can't be a coincidence that the surgeries were aligned like this.

Pundits were clueless about the timeline. They're also clueless on what the team's deadline plans are. What Bowman says in an interview means squat.

Just before the break Skinner scored a couple key goals. He scored against Det and Chi, both those games went to OT, earning us points.. What he also did was make several game saving backchecks in consecutive games.

How was he rewarded by Knobby? He was demoted to the 3rd line for Savoie

I have no idea where this notion that any of his goals are meaningless nonsense came from?

This is just a conspriracy, but the Holloway and Broberg thing smelled so bad that maybe the Blues are trading us someone at the deadline and we had a handshake agreement or something?
