He certainly did mention Tarasenko when discussing Detroit

One good thing about Tarasenko is that hes a UFA next year, so Detroit could potentially retain on him to bring down his cap while being a top 6 option. If they really wanted to it could be retained twice for 1.2M.

In theory we could try and grab Tarasenko and also bring in a guy like Boeser.

Hyman-McDavid-Savoie
Tarasenko Draisaitl-Boeser
Henrique-Nuge-Frederic

That's pretty pretty good.

I like Macelli for a value add. I watched him a few times in AZ and he has soft hands. Would be a cheap pick up. Utah basically didn’t play him towards end of season. Needs work on the defensive side of the puck though.

I have concerns about players that size, even when they’re good in the context of winning a Stanley Cup. He’s a top 6 or bust player and I don’t think you can play him in the top 6 of a cup champion.

Don't think he moves plus its the Olympics year so he'll have that going on to feel important. At age and with all his cup wins he has nothing to prove. Legend career. I don't think he would be in the "I need to be with a contender so I can have playoffs at near age 40 camp" I think he'd be in the life balance path. Who knows.
I think if he were to consider a move (and that is a remote chance) I think it would only be Mtl. He played in the QMJHL, his dad was drafted by Mtl and it was reported to be his childhood team. Just basing that on all the media stuff that I e heard on this matter.

I hope he doesn’t move.

I pine for the days when a player, especially a superstar, stayed in one spot for his entire career (mind you there aren’t many of them). Beliveau, Richard.,I mean even Hull, Red Kelly, Howe, Esposito, Ted Lindsay, Orr etc all moved at some point I guess.

Tarasenko's play has really been falling off a cliff. He's a bigger body that can shoot but at this rate he's likely a much less physical version of the guy that we just moved to Vancouver.

If he was 50% retained, it’s kinda interesting. Oilers could use more shooters. But not sure it’s going to go any different than Skinner did. Too old and worn down I think.

I’m beginning to think this is Tambellini’s twitter account.

Yes let’s remove a solid veteran defender off a good year for two completely unproven rookies who will get destroyed playing with the boat anchor that Darnell Nurse is.

What is this guy trying to accomplish? Sabotaging the entire season before it starts?

He’d actually be an amazing fit in Montreal. They need another top 6 C. Aside from that they’re a pretty stacked team, I really like the Habs rn.

Of course he’d also be fun to see in Colorado with his bff Mack. Or join us..

Players to watch in free agency. They may not be the big names but I could see them being contributors for this team (I’m a bit biased with Raddysh, watched him a lot when I followed Erie Otters back in the day. Could be signed to low dollar amount)

Jack Roslovic
Andrew Mangiapane
Taylor Raddysh
Dante Fabbro
Mason Appleton
