This roster still only leaves us about $2.5M in room, and that's without a top 6 winger. We'll need to clear more space or make a hockey deal. A few of the extras could be moved down, but that maybe saves you $1M more.

I expect we will be more active in the trade market than many predicted at first with all this cap. I wouldn’t even be completely shocked if Hertl was an Oiler come next week, we were rumoured to be a destination for him the first time and it was said he was open to signing a long-term contract here.

Hell, Hertl could force the issue because even his modified NMC is only a list of three teams. He could easily choose two teams without any cap and us. Would be nice to be on the other side of that for a change.

It sucks, all the big rumours for big time players, that come to fruition never involve the Oilers. Bettman's teams knock it out of the park every single season... then they win.

As soon as Florida picked up Seth Jones I knew they improved and were a better team than the one that defeated the Oilers in the finals.

I had to stand by and listen to the regular "so and so's" explain how Florida just destoyed any chance they had at getting back to the finals.

The second I heard Florida picked up Brad Marchand, and the pittance they gave up for him, I projectile vomited because that was the exact moment I knew, without any resevation, that the Florida Panthers had the next NHL endorsed dynasty.

Frederic deal doesn’t help. But he would of also saw money getting handed out accross the league. That being said, I don’t really know why Edmonton is trying to sign Frederic when they have about 5-6 more tasks to take care of first.

I don't think they're seriously considering moving Henrique. The team clearly sees value in him and Frederic as the core a 'shut down' third line.

I wouldn't be that shocked if Kulak is moved though. He is somewhat extra and should have some value around the league.

If we had a better mix and a better managed cap Nurse certainly could be an integral part of a champion.

I know the Oilers are set to fail again, I knew the second Bowman stated "the defense is set." And we just finished the finals. It's right f***ing there for all to digest. You already know.

The D isn't deep and it certainly isn't the right mix. The Oilers will miss again. As simple as that.

Darnell Nurse is the exact same player as Seth Jones. Same flaws.

The Florida Panthers have a vastly superior team to the Edmonton Oilers. They have the right mix to be a winner.

If Florida trades for Nurse over Jones they still win... Nurse plays a greasy game and is more up the Panther's alley to be honest.
