Which Bottom 6 Forwards Do You Keep?

I voted for Frederic, Podkolzin, Brown, Perry, Kapanen and Philp. I'd see Kapanen and Perry alternating in and out of the lineup if both are willing to come back at around $1 million AAV. Otherwise I move on from one or both of them and try to get some new blood on the right side.

I'm kind of hoping that Corey Perry thinks long and hard about hanging them up this summer. He was a big part of this run, but preferably the guy in his role has more speed to burn. Had Hyman not gotten hurt, I'm not sure Perry makes the impact that he did.

Hell might not have frozen over, but it’s a cool day there. Friedman in his 32 Thoughts at #25 said he was surprised the NHL is going after Edmonton over Kane’s LTIR and doesn’t like that they’re going after the Oilers when so many other teams have exploited this in the past. I didn’t think he’d ever defend the Oilers against the league, so good for him to do so.

I don’t really have a problem with many of the players. But I wouldn’t be giving any of them more than 2 years or 2m.

Frederic might be the exception if they think hes a long term solution at 3C or they think he can play top 6. I personally have my doubts. And 8 years is crazy talk.

We will see what Bowman does.

Which Bottom 6 forwards do you want to see return?
Do a cap analysis lol 2016-2017 penguins had 25% in crosby and malkin, oilers will have 28% or more in drai and mcdavid. With bouchard, nurse, ekholm, etc it will be league min for everything else lmfao even moving arvi out may not leave enough lol Brown at 4 years? Are you ******* high? lmfao brown over 1.5 on the oilers? WHAT?!!?

Bullshit he only looked to show signs of age when he was playing first line top six minutes. Him at 1 million 4th line all year and playoffs is mucho bueno

I'd like to have a lines that has some sort of identity. It just seems like they are always thrown together.
Is partly a product of people wanting a fourth line that can score. In a cap world, having a fourth line who all are say 20ish points with those minutes who ALSO bang and skate and are energy or whatever doesnt usually happen game 1. That is more of a deadline thing for some teams. Some teams as in say a team with many young players signed for say 25 million provide 55 million of cap hit value. Otherwise, when the big guns get paid, fourth line suffers. The way it usually happens is pick your poison in the sense you get guys who hit OR you get guys who score OR you get guys who are elite on the PK lol

Same, except I thought this was it for Perry. Isn't he retiring?

No to Connor Brown. no, no, no Please retire Janmark and Ryan.

For me, in the bottom 6 I'm looking for: (1) Speed on the forecheck; (2) value contracts; (3) an ability to PK effectively or be physical; (4) ideally the ability to score a little in that role; and (5) ideally the ability to move up the lineup if needed. I'd prefer the bottom 6 to be on the cheaper side so that we can finally build a decent second line.

I think Podkolzin, Brown, Janmark, Kapanen, and Perry have filled their roles pretty well relative to the amount they've been paid. On cheaper deals, I'm fine with bringing them all back. The two I'd be looking to move on from would be Frederic and Henrique, who unfortunately enough are the most expensive and most likely to be back.

Pretty much agree, with the exception of Frederic. I fully admit I haven't seen him play healthy so this isn't an informed position, but I'm skeptical of how good a fit he will actually be.

I'm not married to any of them. Sure, another year of Perry.
Podz should be high on everyone list.

Perry said he isn't done and really wants to come back here specifically.

Price has to be right so Podz for sure. Brown is fine at 1M. I said Frederic because that seems like a done deal at a ridiculous overpayment.
