Hawks fan dropping in. It’s probably going to be Murphy. Stan absolutely loves him, traded Hjalmarsson for him and extended him. Murphy has to be sick of bad teams, and the Hawks will be very bad again this year. He's literally been in the playoffs once in his career due to Covid. Almost guaranteed he wants out.
Does he have anything left in the tank?

Well if their not Rasmus Andersson who ever hes thinking is closer to a #5 than a #2/3. There aint much to choose from.
We need to stop thinking about trade proposals with the flames. That organization will once again trade with every other team in the division to try and stop us.

Poor Barrie...playing for the fLames is almost as bad as being a fLames fan. (The only reason it's better is you get paid a lot to wear that fugly jersey instead of actually shelling out money for one.)
Considering the year he had he's kinda lucky to still be in the NHL. Especially with two other PP specialists not even getting a PTO
15 minutes a night of bottom pairing responsibility? If that's a major concern, this is a very good hockey team.
The major concern for me as a whole is the PK that he played a big part on. Him and Ceci gone from back end, McLeod gone up front and Ryan up in the air.

Shouldn't be a major concern, but the Jackson/Bowman have done some things that over all are small, but slowly add up and there shouldn't be shock if/when certain things don't work this year.
That’s a point of contention amongst Hawks fans. I think he does, and if you play him where he should be, the #4 RD spot, I think he’d be solid. Plus he really does play playoff type hockey.
But he's never really played playoff hockey. Until a guy does it's hard to say what he can do come playoff time.

However, with a guy like Murphy I do wonder what kind jump you'd see in his game if he went to a contender. The guy is damn near the Jeff Skinner of d-men. Only 9 playoff games over 10ish seasons. It's just one of those things you don't know if he'll get that extra step of excitement or once he finally makes it to the playoffs he doesn't have the drive.

Feels weird that Stauffer is all doom and gloom over the dcore.

I mean we still haven’t seen Emberson and Nurse together. I think Stetcher would be fine with Nurse till the trade deadline anyway. But hopefully this means that Dermott is getting a league minimum deal and Brown is being waived to save 200k cap space which will be accrued.

You admitted to not knowing how waivers worked.. this is a truth.

We won't have to wait long to see how the defense, as it stands, handles the regular season. If they fumble you can watch it unravel.

Witness the media who pumped the Oilers as the cup favorites have a change of heart.
Didn’t you say

If a team loses a player to waivers doesn't the team losing the player move up the list of teams that can put in claims on players who are waived? Doesn't the order of the list change?

Bob did hint today that what they'd ideally like is a top 4 RHD with little term (not Rasmus Andersson) and said there are 3 or 4 in the NHL who are ready to move on from their teams.

He said this during rookie camp as well. I wonder if we do have our eyes set on someone if all else failed at camp (like right now)
I keep looking at Toronto and Lilegren/Timmins

Hey brothers. I waited until the new show was listed available to watch on Amazon. Here’s the clip of Connor after the loss. I never ever want to see anybody try to question his character ever again. The captain wants nothing more than to win a cup here. We’ll be back, boys.
Oof. I couldn't even finish the entire clip. Too painfull

I hope all those idiots on here who spout the "player x doesn't care" or "connor's not a good leader" have their eyelids taped open and are forced to watch this on loop.

That is probably because our Dcore is really, REALLY, bad. Like, "bottom third of the league" bad right now. Yes, we will very likely make a move at some point to bring a guy in, and maybe that moves us up into the 50th percentile or so. But even after that move, we have, at best, an average defensive room. Our top pairing is fire, and then its a whole bunch of nothing, with mostly 3rd pairing and 7th Dmen. We don't have a legit 3-4 guy after the top pair. It's pretty bad right now.

Damn, losing ceci and desharnais takes us from a top 10 team to a bottom 10 team?

And nurse is absolutely a top 4 guy

Damn, that hit me in the feels especially the way Nuge was consoling him. It shows that it hits them as hard as it hits us fans and makes me personally feel closer to them as one team in it together fans and players.
