Rumor: Rumors & Proposals Thread: “I’d buy that for a dollar!!!” Edition

Pittsburgh was said to be looking for prospects as opposed to picks for Guentzel, so I don’t think the door is closed there yet. A Ceci upgrade would be nice, but that player just might not be available this year.

Avs got a 2rd , 2c, got rid of Johansen's contract...God I wish we had a GM with their smarts. Byram has not improved since he got in the league, they sold high.
Ya they did sell high on him. Avs fans complain about him here and there

You have to have your plan and just go with it. They feel selling high on him is the right call

Byram has not been good for Colorado- small, injury prone, unable to find his footing on the 2nd pair even after they cleared out Erik Johnson and gave him that spot. Middlestat is a much better player at this point in their careers. What a tidy afternoon for the Avs.

I'm frustrated that in an all in year we land on plan C

LAME
As badly as I want an upgrade on Ceci right now, I think bringing in two defensively responsible forwards who also fill area's of great need will help with the D by committee, which is something this team has severely lacked for a while.

We still have Broberg, Foegle, and whatever other picks over the next 2 years if we can manage to find a D upgrade, but I think the forwards added are significantly better playoff pickups than the one dimensional scorers that have been floating around in rumors.

why? Buffalo's defense is pretty stacked now and these types of d-men are hard to find

Middlestadt has been "meh" forever in Buffalo

Byram doesn't make anything stacked. He's a band-aid that was drowning in Colorado's top 4 behind Makar and Toews.

Buffalo already has 2 really good defensemen and they just traded away their only forward of significance to bring in a guy who is nothing but question marks in terms of his ability to play against tough competition.
