Holland was more bad than good in Edmonton IMO but he wasn't a total disaster or anything.
The one thing you really don't want him to inherit though is cap space.
Disagree. Chiarelli left the Oilers in a bad, confused state. It was such a mess I remember thinking I wouldn't even know where to start with it.
He'll be remembered for the Nurse and Campbell contracts (and a bad Athanasiou trade), but he also got Edmonton back into the playoffs and cup contention.
The path forward for our next GM won't be easy, but at least it's clear. Without Holland this team would still be a complete mess and I'm glad he was here.
