I thought it was obvious I was being tongue in cheek calling France overrated but alas

The problem with France is tactical and directly on Mbappe's shoulders.
Mbappe doesn't defend on the wing yet can't play the 9 decently. It was the same problem with PSG this year.
In the first game, DD put Thuram at 9 who covered the wing defensively. It lacked balance.
Mbappe never calls the ball behind the D which is a huge problem for a 9.
He wants the ball to his feet and dribble through everyone. That might work on the wing which is why he fled there during the game, stepping on Barcola's toes in the 3rd game.

So DD has seemingly found a way to solve the problem.
They will play 442 with a diamond midfield.
It solves the Mbappe problem but of course negates two of our best talents at wing, Barcola and Dembele. Three if you count Coman. And of course DD hadn't planned that at all and doesn't even have a 10. Griez will play there but he has no cover.

I'll only blame DD as in he thought he could get away with this but has let the same problems as Enrique.
If he had watched PSG in the second part of the season he would have seen the problem and selected some 10 to play 442.

He’s one of the worst refs in Sweden. It’s a mystery how he manages to get matches at this level.
