Watching him, he's athletic with a quick glove, but he's also 6'0, so positioning and anticipation is vital b/c he can't just block the net. And that generally comes with experience.

We don't really ever agree, but I agree with you here. Kolosov doesn't do much for me. He's small and from seeing a few clips, really relies on his athleticism, which seems to be great. I don't know how well that's going to translate to the NHL, but I don't think he's the answer.

Saros on Nashville is listed at 5'11 180, so you can play well at his size, but there are only a few small goalies in the NHL, so there's more risk.

This is as much confirmation as anything to tell me that we may have something here. Charlie hinted last week that the Flyers may feel the same way.

This won’t go the same way as Michkov where they let him go early. SKA wants him to play and win championships for them. And then maybe we get him at age 23 or 24.

Was there an injury to Serebeyakov? He played 40+ games for SKA last year and has pretty good numbers so far. Pavel Moysevich, drafted by the Knights this past summer is also in St. Petersburg but with their MHL (junior) team.

No, he was benched, there was a rumor that he maybe traded. Rotenberg has a good track record of ruining goalies.

No, it’s not. If he’s dead set on the NHL, that is the advantage. Otherwise, the KHL can definitely pay him more than an ELC would.

Yeah, but not enough to compensate for that second contract.
And NHL ELC contracts often have bonus clauses, Michkov can make up to $3M or so I think.
Even SKA doesn't pay those kind of salaries (unless Putin decides to throw some money in the pot).

He can wait out until the ELC doesn’t apply if he wants. Shesterkin came over when it was 2 years, with a plan to get him to the NHL asap. Sorokin had the path there for him, he signed and burned his one year. In the end, he will be made whole as a professional veteran.

I could have sworn he was on that too, but it looks like eliteprospects has changed their contract info to this being his last year. I'm confused.

SKA wins again. Egor Zavragin gets the win 3-2. Kid looks good. I am getting a Vasilevskiy vibe from him. He covers the lower half of the net very well. Considering that two former NHLers that I saw on his team are DeAngelo (or as the Russian announcer pronounced his name as Deangela) and Evgeny Kuznetsov. Now just imagine having these guys come at you every day in practice. Especially Kuznetsov with all the slick moves that guy has. If Egor keeps this pace of goaltending up for the rest of their season and playoffs I say we fast track him to Philly next year.
