Looks like we are going to keep drafting goalies until we get one that can play. Going by the old adage, if you throw enough poo against the wall, eventually some of it has to stick.

Goalies - like pitchers in the MLB draft - are necessary, but oh so breathtakingly boring as part of a draft class.

He might be, but this is no indication of it. Goalies are usually 3+ years away from the NHL, wouldn't help us much now.

I agree, no reason to suspect Hart is gone because they drafted 2 goalies. Unless... one of them is an 18 year old version of peak Vasilevsky (which I guarantee they're not)

Again, I don't know if he's good or not (some good indicators at least) but after the Bonk pick, using two top 100 picks on goalies feels like leaving some meat on the bone.
This team needs to collect some more picks for next year and not even think of a goalie until Round 5 at the earliest.

They took Sandstrom and Tomek
Anthony Cirelli and Adin Hill went right after Sandstrom.
Nicolas Roy went 6 picks after Tomek.
Right? We just watched Adin Hill and Darcy Kuemper win the last 2 Cups.

Like when they took a defenseman because of a run, a run on a position just means more opportunity elsewhere. Drafting outside of the 1st round is so hard. Why make it more complicated?

And Hill was of 5 goalies Vegas used this year.
The other 4 went 35-15-8
And Hill's SV% was only better than 1 of them...Quick.

We've drafted some good goalie talents in recent years. Maybe we have good goalie scouts. I'm not a fan of drafting many goalies either though. Their trade value usually isn't great because not all of them can play at the same time.

I think I heard some people say he was rising quite a bit lately along with Clara as far as goalies go.

Goalies have fine trade value, key is to get them a year or two as a backup where they can advertise their skill to the league.
The goalie is the most important player on the ice, so whenever you can draft "value", it's BPA.
Now drafting goalies is boring, until you have to start a bad one b/c you have no decent prospects in your pipeline.

The Flyers have a great development program for goalies by playing awful defense at all levels.

Zavragin probably suffered the most from Russia's international ban, as otherwise it is very likely he would be the Team Russia U18 starting goalie with the corresponding exposure.
