For sure, but the biggest problem is Auston.

I think defensively he has been really good. His production has been awful though. I think we are being too hard on him and Marner is adding a lot of responsibility on Knies and Matthews. I would be upset if I were on a line with Marner right now.

Game 5 is not a must win. This series is far from over.

Game 4 was not a good game for the leafs but they’ve bounced back before.

Woll needed a couple of games to get up to speed and considering he’s the backup he’s doing a hell of a job.

Seems a lot of fans in this thread are giving the leafs less credit than the main board is. They just need to win 2 games before Florida does, doesn’t matter how, and they’ve already won 2 in a row in this series. Leafs in 6!

Is there a reason we're not allowed to discuss the Kulikov elbow to Marner's head on the mains ?

I made a thread and legit, within 5-10 seconds it was taken down ?

Meanwhile we had a thread for Domi's hit on Barkov at the end, you would think the league is looking at the obvious elbow to the head ?

I predicted Leafs in 7 and I still believe that's where it's headed. However, if we lose, we'll point to Game 3 as the deciding factor. 3-1 in the second period, Rielly scores two in his own net, Matthews couldn't score a goal, Woll lets in 2 stinkers, Bob looking shaky, and Nylander was lackadaisacal. We scored enough, we just needed to push harder and we'd be in a good spot. Still ours to lose though, we have home ice in a best of 3.

IT's hard to see these guys winning a game 7, especially against Florida. It will take something special from Matthews, something we have yet to see in the playoffs from him, for us to win. Let alone in a game 7. Sorry, unless Matthews scores multiple goals here, we are toast.

Of course not. Series is tied 2-2 in round 2.. Tell anyone that before the playoffs started, Toronto would be in this situation and they would have happily taken it.

People here just have PTSD. It's the playoffs, expecting a sweep or a 5 game series against the defending cup champ was just wishful thinking. The team is apparently broken because they lost game 3 due to a deflection off a knee in OT lol..

Toronto has come back down 3-1 in series to make it to game 7, this series is no different.

I'd consider benching McMann for a game, give Robertson a shot, he will bring some energy anyways. Dude has been really disappointing, 1 assist in 10 games and bringing nothing else really, it is justifiable. At least for a game, mix it up.

I wouldn't sit McMann, he's been garbage but you know what he can bring if he's going. To me, I'd sit Holmberg & Jarnkrok for Kampf and Robertson if they want to make some lineup changes.

Jarnkrok PK abilities get replaced by Kampf, (Same production essentially... Slim to none.) and Robertson slots beside Domi & McMann. (The 3rd line is god awful in their own end already even with Holmberg slotted beside them, might as well get some ability to score on the line).

Probably true statement .. but these games are so so so close grinding games that a 1-0 win is quite possible .. Stolly/Woll can win a game too .. unlikely but possible .. last night even though we played our worst game yet we still created 3 great chances to score and if refs did not give a 5 on 3 then that could have turned into a WIN where other team outplayed us

I'd consider Holmberg as well, he's been progressively worse. Thing is you don't expect him to score, Bobby you do and he isn't bringing anything else really. I'm fine with either, but I want zero to do with Kampf to be honest.

As long as Woll continues to play like he did last night, the Leafs will be fine. They will continue to get lots of odd-man rushes, and more often than not they capitalize on them.

Can someone find the clauses in 34 and 16 contract that they need to be on the same line? it's like house league hockey where the dads put their kids on the same line

Matthews is hurt and can't shoot so why have Muffin Marner shot on the same line. Put Willy with Matthews so he can be the shooter. Marner goes with JT so he can feed JT who is not injured.

Simple answer is they don't deal with intent, only result, so there's nothing to discuss about that but specifically

Game 5 is must win.

Matthews situation will come out after the playoffs are over but he's doing it defensively, Marner and Knies gotta really carry that offensively and score the goals.
Doubt that is true. He never reports his injuries.

So what is a Jarnkrok? He feels like he can maybe get something done, but doesn't. And he has played up the line-up a few games as well.

19 Season Games - 1 goal 6 assists
10 play-off games - 0 goals 1 assist

Leaf play-off games over last 3 years. 28 games. 1 goal. 3 assists = 4 points.

And it's not like he is providing grit. Do what is he exactly?

We generally like to play Marner with Matthews as it is a setup man and a goalscorer. Given that Matthews has become a defensive playmaker?, maybe we should try Marner with Tavares and Nylander with Matthews.
