"From what I've seen" clearly has a different meaning to you than it does to me.

I've seen him lose one fight, actually, I forgot about the Tkachuk fight, he probably lost that too, so we are up to two now.
So you haven't seen much but feel the need to comment on a topic you're clearly clueless about. That sounds about right for you.
I just watched that fight, and I am not even sure he lost that fight, but sure, we can say he lost that too.

He's up to three in his career.
He's lost more than that. Here's another.

Benoit getting beat up is not an accomplishment.

Benoit can be tough and a terrible fighter, I appreciate that he will jump in and fight guys, but he loses against anyone who is half-decent at fighting, he is the Austin Watson of D.

Since coming to Toronto, Benoit has fought 7 times, he is 2-5.

His losses: Olivier, Kesserling, Deslauriers, Englund, and Gudbrandson.
His wins: Horvat and Bjorkstrand.

Tough guy, not a great fighter.
Those losses are to guys Bennett would even drop the gloves with.

Benoit has beaten guys much tougher than Bennett

He held his own against Tom Wilson, who would pummel Bennett:

This is what he did to guy about Bennett's size who has a much tougher fight card:

I don't like Bennett, but he's fought some big guys, and he usually does well.
Please list any tough guys he's fought. His entire fight card can be found here, full of lightweights and/or non fighters. Scroll to the bottom:

Sure, we can say he jumped him, I also don't think Domi is the best fighter and that fight likely goes the same way if they fight again, but who knows.

Simmonds was outweighed in every fight and he was able to hold his own or win almost all of them (another player who I can't recall losing much), weight is not everything, technique exists, and Knies may turn into a better fighter, but no need for him to turn into one, and also, not sure testing Bennett at this stage is wise for him.

Bennett has beat Manson, Trouba, Nurse, and Sergachev, it isn't like he only beats guys smaller than him.

Domi is also bigger than him according to their listed stats, just FYI.

Anyway, Knies is a big boy, if they fight, fine, just don't understand your reasoning behind wanting Knies to fight Bennett, he isn't Whitecloud.
Manson, Trouba, Nurse, and Sergachev? That's the best you can do? So 3 guys that can't fight and Nurse who is average at best. Outstanding!

Lots of smaller guys beat up bigger guys, Tie Domi, Wendel Clark and Stan Jonathan. Unlike Bennett they fought the toughest guys in the league and would destroy Florida's fake tough guy.

Where did I say I wanted Knies to fight Bennett? I said "Knies outweighs Bennet by 35 lbs, big bad Sam might bite off more than he can chew if he decides to get too frisky."

Learn to read for comprehension next time.

The guy who you think can't fight vs Olivier:

Your lord and Savior vs Olivier

You're right, forget I said anything.

Knies is too big and strong for Bennett. Knies should go after Bennett and feed him lefts and dominate him. Have Domi go after Marchand after the first cheap shot he gives to one of his Leafs teammates. Send a message early in the series that they’re not going to get pushed around. Every Leaf has to be involved in every scrum not fighting necessarily but at least paired up. No standing back and watching like Marner, Matthews and Nylander usually do. Play fearlessly and make the Panthers play hockey.
Thanks for reminding me, that little roach is terrified of Domi:

Yeah Bennett's really tough lol

Bennett should count his lucky stars Reaves isn't playing cause he'd end up in a coma.

Bennett plays like a GTA kid who grew up on a lot of Gary Roberts, Darcy Tucker lore, with a touch of Doug Gilmour (but mostly just because he wore 93 in Kingston).

First of all, his mission is to knock you out of a series like Roberts on Jonsson, Tucker on Peca. He brained Brad Marchand with a punch to the head and then went Clark-Bell on Carolina's Slavin.

Secondly, he's got a bit of the smaller wild man approach where he's reckless with his body and in a fight he'll just throw bombs. Won't work with a Zadorov type size advantage and Reavo would surely kill him. But as the wolf among all the sheep.

I don't know if we have a natural response to this, although I wonder if Knies is interested in paying back what he did to him in 2023. Knies had no problem taking it to Whitecloud, and that guy is a bigger dude than Bennett.

Some series, like last, I want to stay above the retaliation nonsense because we could stay focused.

This series I think it would be huge to get Bennett running and Tkachuk rattled (like Muzzin used to)

I don't think it's necessarily about the fighting, but constantly being on their behind and hunted vs. hunting.

LMAO.

Let's review. I asked you to list the tough guys Bennett has fought and you provide one video of a guy he fought who gave up against Olivier?

That's it?

What about these guys, your big bad buddy Bennett fought, I mean I already provided the link once, my guess is you'll ignore it like a coward again, just like you did the rest of my post where I corrected you about Knies.

Provide me a video of Bennett beating up an NHL tough guy.

What happened here?

And here?

And here?

I saw that tour in Calgary in the 80's. And lemme tell ya, that band can put on a show. What band can overcome losing their charismatic front man and emerge as an even BETTER band? I can't think of another example.
Might be little unpopular but Ronnie James Dio killed it in Sabbath. Heaven and Hell is a masterpiece.

I agree, but we just can't stand around as they injure our star players like Bennett did to Knies last time. There ahs to be a response and we the guys we have now, there will be. Domi trolling Marchand and McCabe doing the same to Tkachuk will work best, draw those dummies into taking penalties.

Sam Bennett is not very tough. He's shit at fighting.

He's a f***ing cheap shot artist in the mold of Marchand. They're good players and score timely goals... but they're f***ing rats and they can't fight. Not even an argument.

I'd love to see Knies f***ing dummy Bennett in a fight to set the tone in this series. We know Knies doesn't forget that shit. See the fight with the guy off Vegas.

I think we should agree that we hate Bennet until July 1, and the. We will re evaluate.

We don’t need to worry about who wins the fights, we need to worry about a letdown against Carolina or Washington. Let’s go boys!

I think we actually have the right mold for the playoffs. Are defence is way better because they are committed to blocking shots and they can take a hit. We're pretty different (especially the defence) from the last team in 2023 that met Florida in round 2.

Yup Florida is better now too but I think the series is going to be way more electric than the series against the Sens. No reason Leafs can't show Florida who the top dog is. They won the division. You need to take advantage of home ice. Rattle Bob early and someone knock out Bennett or Marchand and go from there.

I'm not saying it'll be easy at all. They're a good team... but the Leafs can win this series.

My heart is saying Leafs in 7 but my head is saying Panthers in 5...Doubt we can handle their smothering and often vicious style especially Marner, Nylander and Matthews... Hoping my heart is right for a change.

I used to be interested in Bennett, but for the money he's going to get, I'd rather save it to resign Knies who is bigger and way better offensively. Besides Tavares puts up far superior numbers as a second line Center than Bennett ever did.

Knies on Pinto on repeat vs Bennett is probably better than one staged fight to be honest. Bonk that stupid mustache off his face.

On the Bobrovsky piece, I wonder how Toronto's lower shot style will impact his play. In 2023 we had some big shot total games but they just warmed him up to dominate even more. I sense he's a bit of a Cujo style goalie who thrives with more action.

Nothing in my post suggests standing around as our star players are injured

I watched every game of the Florida/TB series, I pvr'd them all. Bobrovsky played okay, but he let in some pretty bad goals:

His GAG was .221 pretty much the same as in the regular season but his SV % dropped especially in the later series games where he was getting fewer shots against him. He bent a little but didn’t break. Made big saves when he needed to. Look at the other goalies stats in the playoffs. For starters he’s near the top.

Ok but why are you sorting by GAA?

GAA = (1-sv%)x(SA/60)

Everybody understands by now that save percentage is not a pure measure of a goaltender's ability or performance, but we all know that they have a lot of control over whether they stop a shot or not.

But a goaltender has almost zero control over how many shots they face in a game.

so just to be clear, goals against average is taking a number that they do have control over, subtracting it from a constant and multiplying it by a number they don't have any control over. There's absolutely zero logical reason to believe that that result is more important or telling than the number you started with (sv%). We should just nip that notion in the bud right now.

Absolutely, what matters most to a team in the end is GAA. But if we're actually trying to judge how the goalie performed, and we're looking at basic statistics, save percentage is obviously a better metric.

I just hope matthews and marner show up. i'm tired of them disappointing while other teams best players take over.

I think we can do it, but it will be the toughest test this core has played. If they push this to 6/7 and play their hearts out I won't be down on them at all.

I just want to see high IQ Philosopher Coach Extraordinaire Paul Maurice get humbled. I absolutely cannot stand that man.

Totally not looking forward to hearing how "underrated" Sasha Barkov is and how "tough" the Florida Bettmans are.

He'll have an easier time if the Leafs do not go to the dirty areas. He's not giving up key goals on floaters from the point like Vasi and Ullmark.
