If he hasn't yet built a team that can get out of their own division, then this isn't working and MLSE needs to go in a new direction.

Keep in mind, during that time Boston, Tampa Bay & Florida all managed to build teams that got at least to the Finals if not win it. Toronto, have won 2 rounds total. So there is no excuse, no "well, it's okay if they play hard" nonsense. We're way, way past that.

If this core still can't win with it's 9th different (and I think inarguably best) supporting cast then they won't win with anyone. As almost everyone has said, this series is that test. Win and bring the whole group back and give them raises. Lose, and it's time to move on.

Low scoring / low event games should favor us. Panthers are relentless on capitalizing on mistakes, so we can’t make any and need to stay patient. I think our style game should match up well against them. But the stars need to lead the way.

Also need to stay out of the box. I recall them beating us on the back of their special teams last time.

It’s 100% on how they play. For example, Marner can’t get pushed out again if he wants an offer from the Leafs so he has to be involved. I don’t expect anything from Nylander or Matthews, if they play, but the rest can and should be competitive.

The last time we played Florida in the playoffs , Knies just came out of college and McMann was in the AHL . Two players that we need to play Heavey and score , especially Bobby.
We have a much bigger team since that series and a great coach

Agreed, two season ago isn’t really relative right now. Different players, others have matured and a winning Coach.
