Who stood out or surprised you?

I will eat crow and say I was definitely wrong about Laughton. He looked really good and too bad he couldn’t score there to make it 4-2. He’s a playoff player so far.

Tanev: our best player. This guy never makes mistakes. I couldn’t imagine the team without him

Benoit: is there a better 5-6 guy in the league? He’s improved so much. Part of his bad start this season was the birth of his new baby and lack of sleep. He seems to be himself again and just getting better

Domi: He was clutch on the series winning goal and in OT. I think there is more good things coming from him in round 2

Knies: The guy made a huge play at the end of tonight to negate the icing and is going to be the best power forward in the NHL for a long time

Tanev & Knies stand out.

Tanev is just solid. Consistently makes smart plays, calm, no frills, just gets the job done. True pro.

Knies is pure hustle, never stops going, mature beyond his years & good hands as well.

A heap of good to average - no real standouts for me.

Knies did great relative to his experience and expectations.

Tanev was the clear cut best dman.

Overall we started great but play slipped.

McMann was easily the most disappointing IMO. Still has at least one more series to get going; Ottawa did a great job containing him.

Stolarz was good the entire series. He basically kept it to 2 goals a game, giving us a realistic chances to win every night.

The core players were pretty good

Tanev is a beast, Carlos was great.

Tanev was exactly what this team needed. I always thought it was silly how much that signing was ridiculed. Like they signed him for years five and six of that deal.

Laughton justified the trade, I'd say. He made the bottom six better. Holmberg and Lorentz were quite solid as well.

Domi was hit and miss.

McMann was disappointing. I don't know what happened to this guy. I hope he finds his game again.

Benoit raised his level of play in the playoffs.

Rielly was probably the sixth best d-man for TOR in the series. Hopefully he plays better in round two.

The whole defense except for Reilly and that one stupid play by OEL.

Stolze was also great as usual.

The Laughton line was just pure pest. Have a feelings they will score goals in round 2.

Knies is the new Tom Wilson and Sam Bennett.

Willie once again doing Willie thing in Game 6 and 7.

AM, MM, JT and Reilly needs to be better in order for the Leafs to have a chance against the Panthers.

I don't know about that. Game One was great, but TOR wasn't very good in Game Two after the first period. They were a lot better in Games Four and Six than in Game Two in my opinion.

Tavares was arguably the best player for the Leafs in this series.

But yeah the core 4 ALL will need to raise their game against Florida.

Knies is a mutant. Still can't believe he's gotten as good as he has. Tanev is *the* most valuable player on the team, bar none.

But honestly, most surprising player was Holmberg. Guy looked like a 10-year veteran - smart plays all over the ice and strong on the puck all series. Never expected him to become the stabilizing presence he was this series - went from fringe NHLer to a complete fixture in this lineup.

Good
Tanev
Knies
JT
Marner
Nylander
Jarnkrok
OEL
Benoit
Lorentz

Meh/good enough
McCabe
Matthews
Holmberg
Stolarz
Robertson
Pacioretty (only due to the 3-2 goal)
Rielly (was good in the first three games)
Carlo
Laughton

Disappointing
McMann
Domi

I am not impressed by Stolarz inability to make a save in the third period. Let's in a goal from behind the net for good measure to tie the game.

I start Woll in Game 1. Stolarz in Game 2. The better goalie plays Game 3.

This is playoff hockey. If you score a series game winner under "next goal wins" settings, you default to good. Get Patches out of meh.

He was going in the bad pile before that goal, and they still won more games with Robertson in the lineup.

Nice pass from Domi as well, but the 3rd line was an abyss for too much of the series.
