I still wonder if they trade Pulock because his best years are slowly fading awayI’d keep and pay Romanov, trade Pulock.

Think Nelson ends up with some bumpy ending years of his career. He needs to find the right fit for him as a player vs him financially. He’s a fine line player on production vs. getting nothing. If he blocked a trade there, I'm guessing he's not going to want to sign there either.
He’s been great in the past two playoff series - a team should take solace in that. Offensively, he’s now useless.I still wonder if they trade Pulock because his best years are slowly fading away
They didn't seem all that interested when Dobson was floated.View attachment 1043126
Btw, the Mammoth are completely logical trade partners for one of our defensemen
Yeah it’s time to bring Bortuzzo homeView attachment 1043126

Guerin makes a lot of boneheaded decisions that don’t get the pushback they should. He’ll ship Rossi off and bring in both Nelson & Boeser on large contracts, which will get a pass because they’re “one of us”.I think he cost himself least 4M-5M by not taking Lou's contract - could be a lot more. In the grand scheme of things, that's not a lot for him. But it also might end up giving him a huge headache.
I can't see how Guerin sells trading Rossi because he's small and then bringing in a guy who was just a huge 0 in the playoffs unless it's at a much lower AAV - 5M and below maybe. So now if he wants to prioritize the $$$ he could end up signing with some random team, nowhere near either of his homes in Minnesota or Long Island.
I would legitimately rather have Palmieri for 3.5 for 3 years than sign up for Boeser for that long. They serve the same role, and I don’t think Boeser is nearly twice as good.
Yes, players with all sorts of no trade and no movement clauses are never traded…ok.Pulock has a full NTC, he’s not being traded.
The question is if we're going to get a guy we can depend on for 30 goals per year or if we're going to have another Andrew Ladd situation on our hands. The problem is that in the last four years he's only scored 30+ once and was not pacing for 30 the other three years. For his last 500+ games, Boeser is scoring at a 30-goal per 82 game pace. For the life of me, I don't understand why people dump on him. And we finally don't have to watch Mat holding the puck on the left wing on the PP too! Boeser takes up that spot for the one-timers.
Palms is getting more than $3.5 per from a number of teams . . .
that would be dumb but the org is so stacked right now that I'm not sure it'll matterGuerin makes a lot of boneheaded decisions that don’t get the pushback they should. He’ll ship Rossi off and bring in both Nelson & Boeser on large contracts, which will get a pass because they’re “one of us”.
They rarely are. And we saw what happened with the Rangers this season what happens when a player with a NTC is forced out. It’s doubtful that a new GM is going to come in and anger the dressing room like that.Yes, players with all sorts of no trade and no movement clauses are never traded…ok.

Three years @ $7.5 million AAV?, thank god he forced Lou to trade him

There could be a deal to be made with STL for the Krug contract. They could use some help on the right side.Who is taking Pulock for anything of value with that contract...?
If we don't want him...Why would anyone else?
Minnesota Wild.
I've been saying it for months.
But they are waived. Historically, once the organization tells the player we want to make a change, the player feels unwanted and moves on.They rarely are. And how do you think the rest of the Islanders locker room will feel if Darche forces Pulock out the door like the Rangers did with Trouba? There is no correct way to ask a player to waive their NTC, because it isn’t the right thing to do.But they are waived. The situation with the Rangers is one of tact - it’s how the GM went about doing things that went beyond just a NTC/NMC.
Should Darche look to trade Pulock and ask him to waive? Yes. Will he? Doubtful.
Plenty of players have waived without the Drury method of doing it. Drury went draconian in season with an ultimatum- that’s not the norm and never been so. Compounded by Goodrow, the Rangers made their own unique situation. And how do you think the rest of the Islanders locker room will feel if Darche forces Pulock out the door like the Rangers did with Trouba? Pulock has been here his entire career, and was a key contributor on some of the best teams this organization has ever had outside of the dynasty years. He has not expressed any interest in leaving.
I could see players waiving a NTC if Darche tells them the plan is a complete rebuild. Players may want to move on if that is the plan. Also if Darche offers up a trade that has appeal to the player then he may waive the NTC. For example St Louis could use a right shot D and Mayfield is from St Louis. And how do you think the rest of the Islanders locker room will feel if Darche forces Pulock out the door like the Rangers did with Trouba? They said no to this. They’re fine with their RD group, center is a bigger need for them and they just happen to have a nice selection of them at the draft. That looks horrific.
I don't know much about the Utah farm, and I don't care enough to look into, but if they don't have an impact player coming up for next season, they really need to be trading for improvement should they hope to make the playoffs.
Dobson is potentially available for them. Send us back the Hagens pick.
