Yeah, in order for it to have any meaning someone would have to track all of the scouts and figure out where the outliers are.
I do think there is a larger number of scouts around deadline time other than teams that are on the upcoming schedule but I feel like that’s normal protocol around this time every year

I mean like 13 of these 18 teams are heading to the playoffs and neither of the two teams playing are. It's definitely deadline related

Do you also know that no Cup is coming with Lou employed by the Isles.....Or do you need more time to figure that out?

Listen Perif, I’ve always appreciated your passion and determination since the Snow years. I too want to be a Cup contender, as most of us do. I can’t stand losing, I watched every single game in the 90’s, then years of perpetual mediocrity.

With that said, you don’t have to ram it down our throats with each post. The general consensus seems to agree, Lou needs to go—major changes are needed. If a billboard or 100’s of letters can move the needle, I’m all for it.

I agree man, we get it and most of us agree. The point has been made... maybe 500 times by now.

It would be interesting to see who were the first few posters in a sea of pro “LOU”
that were not sold on him. I imagine that started probably 2020 or 2021.

Overall i have been fine with Lou up to last years trade deadline and off-season. Could have done a whole lot worse up to then. Now...so far....we are doing worse, downward spiral like. Big final tell coming as the wrong moves over the next few days makes his tenure here an overall average, to pretty darn bad. I would hate to end my career that way.

Hey BelovedIsles (love the screen name BTW)...

Nice to hear from you. Appreciate what you wrote here. Sounds like we mostly agree, but I think the difference for me is that I feel like a good amount of Isles fans are like, "Yeah - It's time for Lou to go," in more of a casual way...And then go on to discuss topics like, "Could Gatcomb be a solution on the 4th line?"

While it's better than wanting Lou to stay, I respectfully think this misses the mark.

For me I literally don't think enough fans understand how dire the situation is with Lou as President/GM of our favorite team. Right now it's not the early 80's, 1993, or even 2021 where we should be having more nuanced conversations about the roster and how to tweak it to get deeper in the playoffs.

For years now Lou has been bleeding this team to mediocrity which is literally the worst place to be if you're trying to win a Cup. I don't care the reason why he's failing us - I just want him out ASAP.

So to me I see it like there's a fire in the Islanders front office that is spreading with each Lou move negatively affecting everything else (the talent level, cap situation, culture, and most importantly...Wins/losses). And when there's a fire you drop everything else to put it out - Nothing else is as important than that.

So apologies if you think I'm ramming the same message down your throat with every post, but if you truly want to be a Cup contender as you say, then I think it's simply paramount to keep discussing (or even better - taking action) until the #1 reason we're not going to be one until that issue is solved.

And as you said - I've already written Malkin/Ledecky a letter. Of course I don't expect my letter alone to move the needle, but I also don't expect my vote on election day to do it either, but I still vote. I've honestly felt better since I sent it to them, and would love it if others would take action as well.

That said there's power in numbers, so if you really want Lou gone would you write to Malkin/Ledecky as well? And I'd help pay for a billboard or any other idea someone has if they come to me with it.

I'm all ears to any suggestion that wakes Malkin/Ledecky up and gets us a new President/GM who can bring both excitement and true hope back to this franchise I love. And since I truly love them and want nothing more in sports than to see them win a Cup in my lifetime, I simply cannot stop talking about the disaster that is our failing front office dictator who is 100% responsible for this sinking ship until that dictator is removed.

Hoping you hear this the way it was intended.

I know that there were many when Lou was hired in 2018 that it was going to end badly judging by the end of his tenure with NJD and how TOR turned out amidst their transition to the whiz kid Dubas. "The game has passed him by" "He's a dinosaur" etc

Turns out, they may have been right and should get to say "I told you so."

Myself had given him the benefit of the doubt considering his accomplishments in hockey and how poorly run the Isles had been for 25-30 years until that point. He also got credit in my book for Trotz, Sorokin and back-to-back ECF runs (circumstances aside).

But missing the playoffs in 2022 and his only move was to relieve one of the best coaches of all time is really where he lost me.

How many GMs actually leave their jobs on a high note? Most GMs end their tenures badly, which is why a team would want to remove them and seek someone else for the position.

Are you looking for mea culpas from everyone who wasn't upset about Lou's hiring from Day 1?

100% this.

Nelson to WIN for a 1st in 25, 3rd in 26, 5th in 27
Palmieri (50%) to LA for a 2nd in 26, 3rd in 25
Pageau to NJD for a 2 2nds in 25 and Erik Haula
Casey to TOR for a 3rd in 26, 4th in 27 and Ryan Reaves.

More of the usual...

“All I’ll say is that he’s an Islander, he’s certainly an integral part of our organization and our play, and I don’t have anything more to add to that,” Lamoriello said.

Blah...Blah...Blah...

.
Not at all...just curious, back when the team was winning and the general consensus was that Lou was the reason, I was just wondering who could see past the initial euphoria that maybe this wasn't our best option as GM. Never expected that we would see a 180 degree change from just about everyone.
