Cap will be over 95 m next season. With the recent use of LTIR and Reilly likely out long-term, I'm starting to wonder if Martin's 10 game performance bonus of $100k is in danger of becoming an overage for next season.

On a Different note...
Kasperi Kapanen on waivers....
Anyone think he might fit to add secondary scoring?
Just a thought.
Skates like the wind and averages a half a point a game and 100 hits a year and is on a 1 year 1 million $ deal right now.
In Toronto, Lou Helped Draft him too right?

Isn't that what St Louis picked him up for? 11 SOG's in 10 games doesn't scream effectiveness.
And who do you waive? Can't we just leave the bottom 6 alone until the injured get back into the lineup?
Noticed Kapanen on waivers and thought the same exact thing. Would definitely be a Lou move, but according to the main board, he sounds like another Gauthier at this point.
Probably not worth it to upset the apple cart
Amen to that.Wahlstrom be be demoted if I had a choice

good.....no temptation if he is not there.
Leafs without auston matthews in the lineup are 5-1. (6-5-2 with)
They should trade him.
Matthew’s for Barzal!Leafs without auston matthews in the lineup are 5-1. (6-5-2 with)

Barzal + Dobson for Matthews + 2ndI know this comment is made sarcastically but I will tell you what Toronto as well would be much better off if they would have made a trade out of the "core four".
Barzal and Dobson are very good players but they are NOT elite. You cannot win giving them both elite money for very good production.
Agreed, Toronto should have traded one of them. They’d probably be playing better , and the players/assets they would have received would have helped them bigly now and in the future.I know this comment is made sarcastically but I will tell you what Toronto as well would be much better off if they would have made a trade out of the "core four".
Elite money is 11 plus million. Not 9 that barzal gets. Also Dobson won't be commanding that as well. Translation they are getting paid to be very goodI know this comment is made sarcastically but I will tell you what Toronto as well would be much better off if they would have made a trade out of the "core four".

I think we’ve been around 12% all season long. The Isles couldn’t finish when Barzal was healthy.Isles have scored 25 goals on 200 shots in the games since Barzal went down which is good for 12.5%. That would be 5th in the league over the course of the season, and is almost double what the shooting percentage was through the first 10 games (6.8%).
That being said, they're down from 32.3 shots a game to 25. If they can get the shots back up and keep their shooting percentage from dipping too low again they'll be in good shape
