Why do so many players sitout during contract talks?

Why did Drouin refuse to play this year?

Complete and utter lunacy. Waive Sutter if he refuses his NTC? This is good asset management.

Just another example of a horrendous recommendation. Trade Hansen and the #5 for Brandon Gormely, let the Sedins walk to sign Gaborik long term and then waive Sutter.

This string of decisions is worse than any decision Jim Benning has made yet.

Would help this discussion if you stop making things up.

How is waiving a guy who's not worth even half his contract bad asset management? If he refuses to waive his NTC I don't want to be stuck with him for the next 5 years. Thank Benning for that. I'd rather have the $4.3M in cap space than to be stuck with him for half a decade.

He's not an awful player like you make him out to be. Waiving him would be absolutely the dumbest move Benning has made to date. He's a serviceable 3rd liner. Yes, he's overpaid but by only $1 million.

Travis Hamonic? He asked for a trade, no trade came. The GM told him to sit tight until one could happen. A trade didn't happen and he has since rescinded his trade request.

TBF hamonic only wanted to leave because he wanted to be closer to his family during a health crisis. It was reported that the issue had stabilized and he rescinded his request. Not really the same as Kesler who's agent was apparently calling daily to get moved.

Maybe Carter in Columbus is a better comparison?

Hamonic went around Olympic village trashing his team? Or did Hamonic handle it like a pro?

Make my day.
Can The Canucks borrow your Harry Potter wand so I can make all GMs give us players they would never intend on giving up? Thanks

I see your guys pie in the sky myth about Vatenen was quashed so you're on to Theodore now. Persistent. You think you'd have given up on the Kesler trade Bs.

Can we borrow a Harry Potter wand and transform Benning into an NHL GM?

Can you please amuse us and run through the full scenario where we end up with all of those prospects? I'm legitimately intrigued how you make it work.

I'm not making anything up. I am only restating here what you have proposed in the past.

Yes you are making things up, and taking things out of context to create a strawman argument, over and over and over again.

No. I am trying to add context to the discussion. You post continuously on these boards about how this player is trash, that player is garbage, waive this guy, dump that guy, yada yada yada......I think its important to put into perspective your player evaluation history, which is beyond spotty.

By making things up? Ok.

I have stats that support my position.

They have good hockey players. We don't.

We have good players.

They were just acquired about 7/8 years of a timeline before sj/stl right now.

I just see so much shinkaruk and nylander comparrison and this game is showing a fabbri is as rare as they come.

That Tarasenko guy sure sucks eh? And San Jose would be even better without that Couture guy I guess.

Iam not saying u compared nylander or shinkaruk to tarasenko or couture. But its hard not to see it that way.

Everything that has tracked nylander and shinkaruk in the ahl playoffs says they dont have that edge.
