I would have to think if Morrow really really wanted to participate in the AHL ASG he would have communicated that with the team, and I see no reason they wouldn't have acquiesced to that request and called up someone else as the warm body "just in case". We can be cutthroat at times but I see no benefit to pulling him from the ASG against his will...some players actively don't want to participate in it so this could be a "get out of jail free" card for him.

Hell some NHLers don't want to go. The Seattle rep last year wasn't happy he had to cancel his beach trip he and his wife had scheduled.

Loading up the PP with righties. Might as well try that, nothing else working
Burns as PP QB is not ideal.

It's too bad the momentum that the PP had with Ghost as QB early on was lost when he got hurt.

I suspect that if Canes were certain that Nikishin was coming over before the playoffs, I'd think Ghost would be vulnerable to a trade.

I don't always follow call ups etc closely, but this is a bit of an absurd response, no? Is he lying? Does he actually not know?

I mean, RBA doesn’t seem like the type to sweat the small stuff. He knows his team needs an extra player, he assumes he’ll get that player. How that process happens doesn’t really seem to matter to him, as long as it happens.

With the cap games we've played all year with these call ups, they are likely waiting for a very specific time to call him up. Think it's after 5pm that they can make the call up and save a day against the cap. They've had that timing with a lot of the call ups and send downs this year. May be something else, but probably just normal cap management.

On paper a Svech for Dobson deal could be interesting. Won’t happen but if you were looking for your top pair d to pair with Slavin and a guy to qb the powerplay he’d be the perfect fit

Nah, we need to add to our roster not subtract. Plus, Svetch is our only top forward that can play (occasionally though) physical. I'd trade young assets plus a first for Dobson though.

Question is: what is his contract worth next year? Can Canes fit him in so it's not just a rental?
