Apparently this yanks Morrow out of the AHL All Star Game, that's gotta be some mixed emotions.
I don't know, they're advertizing the event by how big amount of the participants have become NHLers. I'd think the event has foremostly the showcase value for the player to try and pry the call-up for himself so it may be a bit like not getting to go to the WJC because you were called up to the NHL at that time: you've already gotten the big prize you were hoping to get from the event.
If not, at least the player will have the NHL salary from the call-up time to dry his tears on.The 2025 AHL All-Star Classic will feature the top young talent in the American Hockey League: since 1995, more than 94 percent of All-Star Classic participants have gone on to compete in the National Hockey League, including Cam Atkinson, Drake Batherson, Jordan Binnington, John Carlson, Logan Couture, Thatcher Demko, Lukas Dostal, Connor Hellebuyck, Tristan Jarry, Kaapo Kahkonen, Jordan Kyrou, Jonathan Marchessault, Jacob Markstrom, J.T. Miller, Brandon Montour, William Nylander, Kyle Palmieri, Mikko Rantanen, Dylan Strome, Tyler Toffoli, Vitek Vanecek and Mats Zuccarello, as well as current Seattle Kraken players Oliver Bjorkstrand, Vince Dunn, Yanni Gourde, Jamie Oleksiak and Philipp Grubauer.
