I have no problem trading KK for Brock Nelson, who I think we could sign in the. off season for the same 6 million a year +/- 500k for 2 years to give Jarvis a chance to grow into the Center position (making him 24 at that time) and grooming Nadeau to move into his left wing position.
If the Islanders are in a sell mode, and if he's available, Barzal would be overall appealing for a 2C.

If we can't get EP from Vancouver, than Barzal would be a good plan B IMO.

Nelson just doesn't interest me. He isn't a long term solution for 2C given his age.

Doesn’t sound like ROR will be traded according to Freidman on Saturday night headlines said he’d have to approve a deal even tho he doesn’t have a ntc and Nashville would really have to like the offer to consider it

I keep telling you guys, getting scoring 2Cs on non-albatross contracts is hard as hell. We're not in that bad of a position considering that two of our centers are 25 and under and all of them are decent-to-strong defenders the vast majority of the time. This offseason will be a great one to weaponize cap space. We don't need to make a major trade right now.

I think he'd be happy to come to a contender with the coach players around the league respect more than any other and that also has a relatively friendly tax environment. We're not the kind of team most players would veto a trade to these days.

But Nashville would have to want to trade him, which is a lot bigger of an obstacle. Despite this year being a bit of a trainwreck, they have a lot of good pieces and want to contend, and they're not going to be selling everyone off. Maybe make a hockey move here or there, but they're not tearing it down.

I think zucker would be a solid add, but even more so I’d be excited to get to make even more references to zucker bros movies

In what world is 12 goals "roughly the same production" as 6 goals?
Production isn't just goals?

Brock Nelson projects to 48 points in an 82 game season averaging 19 minutes of ice time for 6 million per season

KK projects to 34 points for 82 games in 17 minutes for 4.8 million

So ya roughly the same production for less money.

As I said before, you also need to consider that Nelson gets all sorts of primary PP time that Kotkaniemi does not.

What about Cozens of the Sabres say a trade of KK, Sorum, Fast and a 3rd Fast going to get us Cap Compliant. For it appears the Sabres are considering on trading him.

Interesting point about the 4 Nations tournament coming up and probably making Carolina (and Vancouver for that matter) wanting to get this done sooner rather than later if a trade is to be made.

Let's get our big fish forward finally if the front office thinks this is the right player to get for multiple reasons. For what it's worth, I think Pettersson is the right forward to target based on what's available, and what's coming up in the summer through free agency (which I doubt we'll sign one of the top name forwards tbh).

Then hopefully during the summer, we add a physical and skilled top 6 winger to compliment our top 2 lines.

Dreger=sub-meh and his comments could have been made by 10,000 users on HF.

Plus, lol at his Dundon cheap comment “throws $ around like manhole covers”.

As we all know, Dundon spends to the cap but the org. believes in pricing to market.
