I don’t think an argument can be made for the Canes not being better with Miller vs Kotkaniemi. Question is, would you rather pay an extra $3.2M to Miller over the next 5yrs vs Kotkaniemi’s $4.8M.

Personally, as long as their not giving up crazy futures, I think that’s an easy “heck yeah”, not my money though so there’s that

This is just one of many. This person preaches KK gospel every other day. I'm still waiting for KK to do what this guy says he will.

KK has his moments. And he's shown signs that he can be what we expected him to be. But it's just not happening as consistently as we want it to be. Part of that is because he's demoted the minute he makes any kind of misstep

EP and Boeser? Really? The amount of wind generated by our front office running to the fax machine to send that in if the Canucks agreed would blow this winter storm to Australia.

Come on now.
Arty is currently one of the best U22 prospects (at age 19) in the KHL behind Demidov. Granted a bit of hyperbole for EP + Boeser, but it's significantly closer than Arty in any trade for JTM

And honestly, the f*** is Gold smoking? We want a player like JT Miller but we don't want to give up any assets to get him? Well then how the f*** are we going to get a player like JT, Mr Smartest Man in the Room? I'm not sure what sports you've been following but trades, especially involving high caliber players, tend to require pieces moving in both directions.

yeah it basically comes down to "is this a better team with KK+Roslo or with Miller+fill-in (Nadeau or Gunler) until we add whichever forward for that slot at the deadline" and I think the answer is a pretty easy "Miller+fill-in" in this case.

I'm just saying, if Miller ends up here, and there is a plume of smoke to now think he will, it should really give us pause on ever using Adam Gold as a serious source again
I'm being completely serious here: people actually used Gold as a serious source to begin with? As soon as I heard Gold was against it I have been refreshing the Trade Board because it's lock of the century territory. I wish he would just go back to NY already and let someone who cares about the area have his spot. Plus Ovies can be a bit goofy but I really like the guy.

One more note about Miller. I don't mind that he's having a rough time when the team is playing like shit. Some people hate to lose more than they love to win, and to be honest, this team could use a little bit of that in the locker room to help light a fire under everyone's ass when they are slumping a bit despite being in a somewhat comfortable playoff position. And its absolutely the mindset you want in the playoffs.
I take it you also watched Dangle's LFR for the Leafs vs Canucks? That piece and the bit saying people should be thankful that Kucherov found hockey and not something like knives was great.

In this scenario I'd like to see Suzuki fill a hole...in our lineup.
I hadn't really thought about it this way, but if you trade Kotkaniemi and Drury in the package to have a center lineup of

Aho
Miller
Staal
Suzuki / Jost / deadline move

That's not bad. I also wouldn't be opposed if Vancouver wanted Suzuki and Carolina kept Drury, although Drury may be needed to balance cap.

This was discussed on The Sheet today with Jeff Marek based on chats with an undisclosed insider (he kept saying the guy should be the next GM if there's an opening). He thought it might work after the season concludes though.

He and Wysh also discussed the Canes and Avs as a landing spot.

That seems kinda awful for everyone but Jersey, but especially Buffalo.
