My dark-horse prediction is that Nikishin will take over for Orlov next season, and then Morrow will take over for Burns the season afterwards.
I don't think that's really a "dark-horse" prediction as it's not something that is very unexpected and surprising.
I can see Morrow needing a couple years in the AHL and Nikishin coming straight to the NHL, so don't see either scenario as unexpected.
If Nikishin comes over, I am very confident that he will be in the NHL as he'll demand it, and he's very likely NHL ready anyhow, as he'll be 24 years old and played 5 seasons in a pro league, with the last few being a dominant player. I'm 50/50 on if Morrow will be NHL ready or not by next year.
If Burns continues to play at a high level, and wants to come back for another year, I'm sure the Canes will try to make that happen. Burns may want to stay in Texas though so I wouldn't be surprised if he signs with Dallas either.
