The thought it that we want no part of helping tampa get under the cap, the prices that people were bringing up in order to acquire Gourde was outrageous. He is a 30yo 2/3rd line center, not Larkin, Lindholm, or others who actually would fit this teams needs now and the future. The offers i saw included not one but a combination of players like Schnieder, Nils, Kravy, 15thOV, Robertson, chytl and so on. It was down right horrible thought process. Glad that is over and has passed. Lets move on to better things

When you get this close to ufa it then becomes a reason of why not wait and see what is out there bc if you have a sense you can make the same money over 7 years for another team that you're being offered over 8 years at your current team that changes things...

I'm still kinad stunned they didn't take Tarasenko with so many D men available. I mean I get the shoulder injuries but if he proves he's healthy he's a legit top player for them offensively.
