Speculation: Roster Building Thread: Part XXI (Will these playoffs ever F'ing end?)

Damn, thought we could avoid “Trade Fox” stuff till at least the 1k post mark.
I'm not saying to trade Fox but is it possible we also need a different style 1st D along with Fox? I ask this because of physical reasons. This is not bashing Fox but I think we can all agree that while he is a very smart NHL player he is not physical and is one of the slower skaters. I was trying to think of a Cup champion that ever won a cup with a slow AND non physical as a combination at 1D. I could not remember any. Granted my memory is bad so please let me know who I may have missed. Once again I'm not bashing Fox who has excelled in his own way. I'm just asking because if we need to add a different kind of #1D in addition to Fox than we should make that our first or second priority imo.

Strikes me as another guy who would be ideal on the third pairing but they'd acquire with the express purpose of trying to pay and play above his station and hoping he'd grow into the role.

If it was a straight swap for Soucy then I'd befine with it. But I'm still holding out hope for McDonagh, Gavrikov, guys like what we actually need to log 23-24 minutes.

I think you are underestimating Gavrikov as well as Soucy as a 3rd pair guy. A top 7 of the below is a contender group, especially with everyone getting the procedures they had been putting off/rest.

Would love to work out a deal around Jones and a pick for Issac Howard as well.

Gavrikov - Fox
Miller - Borgen/Schneider
Soucy - Schneider/Borgen

LAK is resigning Gavrikov

Fox isn't being traded. He's gonna be here either most or all of his career. Ottawa isn't trading Sanderson. This is fan fiction.

If Fox shows up to camp lazy or doesn't take this offseason seriously, that says all you need to know about him.

One to three of Kreider, K. Miller, Laf are going.

Gavrikov or Provorov would be fine, but would they want to come here? The "this is New York" or "we have Brighton Beach" narrative doesn't work anymore.
This is NY still holds

EF mentioned Nic Hague is being mentioned in trade talks. His contract expires this summer. One year away from group 3. Hague is a nasty piece of work. Not afraid to drop the gloves. He would be ideal for the Rangers. 6-6 240 pounds. I remember reading after Vegas was knocked out by Edmonton that the Golden Knights needed a scoring winger. Chris Kreider?
Only if he comes attached with another pick or prospect

Hauge is an awful target for this team.

On his own he isn’t that bad but he’s another giant oaf who isn’t very good defensively and can’t really push transition.

He also hasn’t crushed bottom pair minutes so I don’t know why we’d be looking to add him.

Leaf fan coming in peace here. I have no idea what Kreiders value is. I also assume he has leafs on his no trade list.

But do the leafs have anything that could make it worth it?
