Speculation: Roster Building Thread: Part XXI (Will these playoffs ever F'ing end?)

Did he fight anyone besides goofball Georgiev? I'm sure half the board could see themselves punching Georgiev.
He might have had the only KO on this club the last few years as well when he rung the bell on the Islander/Sabre ? guy . I can't recall his name ...was fun watching ! Maybe if we sign a good mental health doc he will be awesome....plus the doc can work with Mika as well ...two for one deal....

You're right, but like I said, they're gonna replace Miller with some Soucy/Borgen type and tell themselves it's a huge upgrade.
They already have actual Soucy. I’d allow that they are looking for a proper improvement for 1LD spot if Milller were to be moved.

Gavrikov is like the only good defenseman on the free agent market. If they are dealing KAM to fill a hole elsewhere and replacing him with Gavrikov, that makes sense, but be prepared to pay out the nose for a guy who is about to be in his 30s.

I have read this but I actually think Orlov is a decent middle-pairing guy

I thought that until I watched him this playoffs and he appears very cooked. It would not shock me if he goes to the KHL next season. Not like he's got anything left that he'll prove in the NHL now that he's 36.

He destroyed Okposo so bad I thought his career was over.

But yeah that might be the last unanimous win a Rongo has ever had lol

Tony DeAngelo was born in the wrong era. The NHL over the years has had so many players that were a little off. In the past however they gained sort of this cult following. Sean Avery is a perfect example. So is Darcy Tucker. Same for Matt Barnaby.

Very different times nowadays. Social media isn't very forgiving. Players that won't always walk the line don't get a lot of passes anymore. Tony D is a perfect example of that.

After the Georgiev fight, it went viral. Spiraled out of control. Politics factored. Inaccurate info poured in. Some truth, some fiction. The reality of it is, for decades, teammates have fought with each other. Its nothing new. Players that compete hard have tendencies to cross the line. Say things that nowadays would be inappropriate.

The one thing I always liked about Tony D was the tenacious attitude. Thats something that you either have or you don't. And...That is something that 90% of this NY Rangers team doesn't have.

Im not even advocating bringing Tony D back though. Not for his attitude or behavioral issues though. Because the team has its PP QB, and I don't think adding another undersized defenseman is something they need to do. I do think there is a place in the NHL still for him.

Thank god re Boeser. Whoever gives out that contract will regret it.

Why not Gavrikov instead of Provorov? It was reported around the deadline that the Kings would re-sign him, but at their breakup day Gavrikov sounded like he was expecting to go to UFA. Shesterkin and Gavrikov played at SKA together.
Gavrikov is possible as well but provorov is preferred if its a 7 year deal

Ok, I'm morbidly curious. What is it about Tony DeAngelo that the crazies online don't like?

From an offensive standpoint, DeAngelo creates offense. There really isn't any arguing that. The problem is that defensively, he is the exact opposite.
Very good skating. When he is on his game and his head is on straight TDA is a legit asset. Problem is that is only around 30% of his career.

In deangelos absolute best season he was not good enough at preventing chances against to justify him being resigned by the Canes. In his second best season of an up and coming Rangers team, he was rewarded with a great contract which he in turn thanked the Rangers by showing up to camp out of shape, playing like shit, trying to engage a fan in a fight on Twitter, and actually fighting a teammate. Which does not include some of the things the team warned him about the season prior. (Breaking curfew, showing up late, engaging in constant talk and language that he was warned to curb, etc.)

But I understand. Some of you think he is being unjustly maligned for his politics. Despite the prevailing leanings of the majority of the league. And it's fans. And it's ownership groups. And the fact that he keeps getting chances. Sure guys. Keep banging that drum.

He sucks and he's a douche. Pass.

Florida is the reason why I do not want to give up on top drafted talent. I know some do not see it in some of those players, with how they have played here, but with good coaching ( actual coaching ) and a strong locker room, you see talent blossom.

Reinhart, Vaerhage and Bennett. Meh players on their past teams. Go to a better environment and now they're important 'core' players.

I liked DeAngelo during his stint here, but more often than not I've seen TDA make so many stupid mistakes for other teams I seriously want nothing to do with him.
