Speculation: Roster Building Thread: Part XX (WTF are we going to do this Off-Season edition)

Conversely, if laffy was playing even "well" everyone would lose their shit if the rangers traded him. The league has five years of seeing what he is so I'm not sure there any surprise on that.

Also, how can people say don't trade laffy when his value is at its lowest but then also be trying to trade Miller at ever opportunity when his perceived value is near its lowest and he needs a contract?

People sure do hate consistency

i wouldn't trade Miller either. if Laf was traded when he was playing well the reaction would be contingent on what the return was. trading him while his value is low is the dumbest possible time to do it.

Your logic doesn't make sense. He could have gotten 5 from another team where he wasn't skeptical of the GM. Drury was also the GM for Team USA that he just coached. So....he's not skeptical of him.
Where did I say Sullivan is skeptical of Drury? I said I would be. And I am. His asset management record as GM hasn't been great.

He was never rebuilding, why did you think that? Getting rid of 2 of Mika/Kreider/Panarin isnt a rebuild. Cutting the crap off the team.
You’re functionally rebuilding if you’re moving 2-3 of those 3.

You need to replace the scoring. You need to ensure the depth doesn’t get destroyed.
That’s half your top 6.

By beat to death you mean when you said that you dont believe in science?

I may have talked about Mikas previous seasons but in the context to compare against other players past seasons. If you have an example where I use previous accolades in a less than fair setting I would happily appologize.
Dude, I’m just f***in around. Busting your balls. It’s all good. We’re just fans talking on a message board. Have a good one!

I don't believe that. Kreider was basically useless last year, that's not cutting away much and will improve the team.

Getting rid of one of the other 2 will give us opportunity to get one or two good pieces to replace them. Aside from that you are basically running the team young core. Not much a rebuild. A small retool.

I'd take a flier on Howard but if he isn't signing in TB, he's likely looking for a situation where he can hop into a NHL lineup right away.

That isn't here.
depends on who is moved.

Move Kreider and Mika, there's more opportunity than Tampa with Kucherov, Guentzel, Bjorkstrand and Hagel having the top6W locked.

how much you think most backup goalies make?
The majority of teams this season used a backup making 1 million or less. But to be fair, with the cap going up, sure that price will increase. We could have saved that money using Garand though. Every bit counts for cap ceiling teams and we will always be cap ceiling.
