I'd take Laf over Hughes. They're both exciting. They're both flawed.

Jack Hughes has been an over a point per game player the past four seasons. Laf has never been a point per game player. He's never even come close.

Anyone on here saying they would take Lafreniere over Hughes is just embarrassing.

Hughes played 20 less games than Laf and scored 25 more points. Even a broken down Hughes is still miles better than Lafreniere, quite literally.

Laffy has had issues here. Bedard hasn't dominated as fast as hoped. Hughes is often injured. Where do they rank in trade value? Could a trade be possible?

Lafreniere has been extremely disappointing, and I don’t know how anyone could say otherwise. Hughes has his issues, but he’s an elite offensive player. I don’t think there’s anyone on the Rangers who can skate or shoot the puck as well as he does.

After the vets he also disappointed me the most this year. Instead of stepping up and taking on a bigger role, he joined their pity party and I’ll never forget that. He’s too young and too unproven to pull that bullshit.

I have Hughes #1 at this point of time in their careers. Bedard #2 and Laf #3 but all 3 have had their own issues.

Goodrow clearly did infuse a shit ton of leadership into the group.
The concerns about the deal were getting out of it.
Drury got out of it for nothing, alleviating huge concerns about the deal.

The thing with Laf we saw flashes of heavy skill hockey. He succumbed to the locker room drama which removes him from captaincy considerations. JT is the defacto leader and I give Laf 1 more chance with JT. If Sabres wanna talk Peterka I am all ears.

Can we pin this? The NYR do not acquire thread.

Though, I'd engineer some skate blade rockets for Tkachuk. Maybe tell him to spend the summer with a pro NHL player and skater, Rempe.

Fox can't play that style but he absolutely can and has willed his team to a win by taking over games. he needs to get back to that one way or another. Injuries, Housley effect, freelancing because no one wants to listen to coaches, whatever, he needs to get back to better results on the ice.

Fox was so good at fooling defenders. Drawing them to him and almost becoming standstill with him. Hard to do that when nobody on the team is moving and can't be found below the circles. Can't create space for his teammates when they just stand and watch the play.
