Speculation: Roster Building Thread: Part XX (WTF are we going to do this Off-Season edition)

Extensions don't really mean anything in terms of job security. We've seen that in the past.

yeah could be, but it shows some amount of confidence or backing of Drury and what he's on about. Could be a bit of a message to the players "the owner has the GMs back, you're not getting rid of him that easily"

I thought it was slimy what he did to Goodrow, but I don't care because Goodrow sucks at hockey. Like, that's it. I'm just gonna be a bad person on this. Sorry. I've put too much into this team. Don't suck at hockey.
the "guys who really suck but everyone loves and they provide leadership and make too much money" are a real f***in' drag on a team trying to maneuver with limited cap space

My initial reaction is that this one does.

Considering how this season went with the entire roster loathing him, it’s a clear signal which side the owner is on.

“That guy you hate? I like him.”
It tracks that Dolan love Drury because they’re both narcissistic assholes that think they are gods gift to earth

So of course he wants him around lol

I don't think narcissists usually like other narcissists! would kinda defeat the point of being a narcissist!

I don't think anyone should really feel bad for him. People are forced to move with their job all the time. Some people don't get to move to the Bay area making millions of dollars, still doing the thing they love. Some people move to the unemployment line.

I mean take a step back and Drury came in and instantly made this team a playoff team, got them to the ECF twice, a Presidents Trophy...so what if this was a down year?

From Dolan's perspective Drury has done great

And so again, If you don't think this organization is sending a big middle finger to the entitled core I don't know what else you need to see at this point. Announcing extension for Drury right after these exit interviews where the divas are basically crying about what's been going on here should be perceived as absolutely nothing short of a shut up and do your job signal to everybody, along with the fact that their sulking and whining isn't going to dictate what happens in the organization anymore. There's more Carnage coming...
