Speculation: Roster Building Thread : Part XVIII ( TDL is March 7th)

Good points for sure. Thoughts on oleksiak who someone recently brought up? I could just be too high on getting bigger on the backend.
Oleksiak is up and down. Either way, I don't think that's what this team needs.

Their best puck mover right now is Jones and he has warts. Even with Fox, this D corps didn't move the puck well enough.

They have plenty of defense with de Haan and Borgen in the fold now. They need a LHD who isn't completely inept offensively.

Besides Del Zotto for a couple years, it’s been an issue since Leetch. Am I missing someone?

Idk. I get what you’re saying for sure but do we have plenty of defense? Even with the names you mention the front of the net is still wide open too often. Maybe more of a system issue than a personnel issue? But I can’t stand seeing guys wide open point blank as much as i have this season

Walman just makes too much sense.

Power for Laffy? Bryam?

Would Seattle move Dunn?

Sanderson or Chabot?

Does Drury just wait for the offseason?

If Kreider uses his clause to make a trade difficult, I think Drury has no choice but to put his big plans on hold until the summer. I think he'll still add a forward or d-man for mid round picks just to fortify the team a little bit but it feels like Kreider is the first domino.

We all knew Goodrow had to go and he was willing to work with the team, Drury screwed him. Players don't like that stuff, especially when the GM hands the same guy a contract with a NT clause. But this whole mutiny thing is laughable. Like an episode of the Real Housewives.
I don’t necessarily agree he had to go, but this is kinda where I was at. Anyway, it just seems things could have been handled a bit smoother from the front office side of things. It should be an interesting summer.

I’d think Buffalo is all over Schneider to pair with Byram. Could see Power and Schneider as pieces in a multiplayer move. Don’t know if Laf would be one of those other pieces or not

So what are some the big twitter accounts to follow tomorrow? Clearly the HFBoards will barely be functioning since they can barely hold on right now when barely anything is happening.

Dang. I’d be all over a Schneider Byram pair. Let’s trade for both power and Byram and keep schneids in the process
Power-23
79-17
Byram-4
Let’s go! Lol

If this team trades for a signs Rantanen to a mega deal I am officially out. I said that after the Igor deal but Drury has reeled me back in with his recent moves. He’s throw that all out the window if he pursued another mega contract winger that is looking more and more like a guy that can’t be the focal point himself.

If we can swing Bread for a haul, I’m all for it. Very unlikely though, so please just rip off the Kreider bandaid, finish fixing the defense (we’re so close) and see what happens.

Elliotte Friedman, Frank Seravalli, Darren Dreger seem to get the news out he quickest. Brooksie is still the on Rangers stuff, as he was again on the Smith trade.
