No, I was saying that way back when this started coming out in November and December the media was framing it as big bad Drury is an a hole. I knew what happening during the summer and I knew it was coming to a head right before Thanksgiving, I shared as much here. Then as the media got ahold of it all the questions to the players were constantly like "do you think the way things were handled is part of an issue" "do you think management should have handled things differently" and questions that lead the players to speak a certain way. Almost everyone with a podcast that covers the rangers was bashing and blaming Drury for the mess for months and slowly that has stopped bc more came to light, especially when Larry wrote that one article in particular going after certain players. When that article came out it made everyone pause bc the way Larry wrote it was very direct and it highlighted big parts of what was going on that publicly people didn't know. That's when the other writers stopped trying to point all the issues at Drury and the reporting shifted. Larry was in a unique spot that he didn't NEED the players to maintain his job, he's already a hall of famer and if the players tried to shut him out after the article he has the cache to slam them again. I know Larry can be all over the place but most people here don't realize the good that Larry did for the franchise by writing that article and that he was one of the very few that could do it in the manner he did. He had the platform, cache, credibility, and has the relationships to do it. If he didn't write that then things here are probably still just being pointed at Drury as to why things went to hell. Drury tried to start this roster reshape during the summer and the players fought back. Then the gloves came off...
