  • We're expecting server maintenance on March 3rd starting at midnight, there may be downtime during the work.
super early but Kampf is an interesting dark horse on paper -- decent size, rhs
howev, if wasn't gonna sign, dealing was prob smart

thanks for bringing up such an apt parallel
your reward is a little slowhand

I think they just didn't see much in Kampf. Him and Karpa would not have been signed. Larsson even is 50/50.

The players responsible for the stuff are still here. They have got to go. The insubordination has to be dealt with. They are not management. They don't pick the trainers. They don't pick the players. They don't try to get the GM fired. Their f***ing jobs is playing hockey. That's it. This is not the UN.

A lot of them are either out or on the way out. Panarin will be playing for a new contract next year so I expect him to be a good soldier. JT is cool with Mika because they played together for almost two years prior. Kreider may be out as soon as this Friday and as late as next deadline if this new injury is not a herniated disc cover up.

Heathen
See my post above. He is a terrible human and his work after Derek is whatever (sure he had that Unplugged moment in the early 90s when music was at it's second peak).

It shouldn't be that big of a surprise when you consider that they're 17/18 year olds that are being drafted. What you have then is a snapshot of a player playing against other 16/17/18/19 year olds and a hoped for projection of what they might become a few years down the road.

Take a 18 year old guitar whiz who's clearly better than anyone his age group around him but 5 years later some of his competition has caught up to him--maybe even surpassed him and maybe a couple of them were even complete novices. You can almost expect that that was going to happen and no one at all would be surprised.
So funny you brought that up. There's an emotional intelligence and intensity element to it. Like why aren't Tim Henson from Polyphia or Corey Wong the most known guitar players in the world? Why did Dean DeLeo or Noodles sell more records than Yngwie Malmsteen or Joe Satriani?

Same reason why Alexei Kovalev was probably the most talented skill guy to ever play for the Rangers, but in games, never fully dominant.

Panarin 50% retained to Florida for what?
Maybe they cut bait with Bennett and we extend him? Samaskevich. Listerine? Sardif? 2027 1st. A lot of wingers

i think they like schneider on the right side. Dehaan can play left too no?
There were rumblings that they see him moving to the left. Please no DeHaan any where but the 3rd pair and press box

henson and wong are technicians lacking musicality

It happens a lot with teams who purge.

If they keep in interesting that's ok. The worst thing to happen is finish 14th worst, out of the playoffs, and then have Pittsburgh win the draft lottery and move up ten slots.
Oh you know we’re going to end up 14th and lose our first. Drury should’ve demanded lottery protected considering Miller was only coming here

Losing a 14th in this draft is not the end of the world considering the return. JTM for Fil, Mancini & a mid round first in a weak draft is a steal of a trade.

At the time there was no question, but wow Boldy is so good.

Same with Laff Vs Jarvis. In terms of compete it’s night and day right now.
In retro I'd have taken Caulfield but the fact that we're even talking about this tells you why we're in this situation in the 1st place.

Those two picks being borderline (actually meh is more accurate) are why the "window" if you even wanna call it that, closed so abruptly

If we’re redrafting and I’ve #2 in 2019 and #1 in 2020, we’ve got Seider and Stutzle and we’re trying to get Draisaitl to come form team Germany in NYC.

Clapton was a great guitar player from like 1966-1974. He's been a universally terrible human since and the last eight years have ruined his legacy.

Yeah, pretty much starting with sleeping with George Harrison's wife and onward, he's been a POS.
I just liked Cream since I was young. Just did a little reading. Yikes. That for sure changes things.

NYR want a roster with less holes next year, not more. So the 4C they just signed for 3 seasons at next-to-nothing, who has been competent and better than Barclay Goodrow- I'd be surprised if he was dealt.

You do that, for all you know you end up with a Kevin Rooney or Greg McKegg in free agency- someone who simply isn't as competent or doesnt fit the needs as well.
Who cares about roster holes if you sell high on Carrick and get a cool 3rd rounder.

Tro, Berard, Robertson, Jones
for
Clarke + Dvorak + Helenius

LA gets pivot help now = roster flexibility while adding a good insurance piece and/or solution depending on how fast Kopitar gracefully fades or falls apart, with Tro giving another 3 ish years and also an possible to go 'nother coupla yrs
Berard = high energy good skating W flashes of scoring, only negative is undersized
Robertson should not be reclamation project, Rs mgmt never gave him a chance, he has tools
Jones is bottom pair depth, ready now
all other than Tro are young

Rs get high end RD project, good sized LD project, and huge pivot Helenius for Rempe and eventually Edstrom, makes Carrick available for other lines

thoughts?

Berard should be in the NHL the rest of the season
Kid would easily have 30-35 ES points this year if he was given a chance.

damn why must you do this? We just Berard play an awesome game.
Put Othmann there instead

this is more balanced [Oth would require LA to add]
also Oth has more long term upside
maybe on Draft reputation and being a first rounder but not what I've seen over 2 years now up here and Hartford. Besides Size Berard is a better player. Creates more on his own. Always going to all areas of the ice.
