So what do the Rangers have then?We do not have a goalie. The goalie f***ing sucks. But the Oilers have done jack shit with their superstars.

Fox is great. Fox is also a casualty of not having any other route to recoup assets. I wouldn’t have great moving him but this roster is simply a tear downHonestly? Not much long term. To me the difference between a full scale rebuild and what I'm looking for is frankly a guy like Adam Fox. I would listen on Panarin because of his age but am still not in a hurry to trade him. I would resign Miller, that's the other difference because I feel like a lot of people probably want him gone too. I would trade Kreider, Smith, Lindgren, and if he waives Zibanejad. I wouldn't trade Lafreniere unless we get someone YOUNG coming back whose value is too good to pass up. I guess the difference isn't huge. To me the biggest difference is the idiocy of trading Fox and a few other players like Panarin (though I'd listen on him), Miller, and Laf. But not wanting to trade Fox is not insignificant. He's our best defenseman and despite a rough year, one of the best in the NHL. He was one of the best in the NHL with Miller this exact year and he's still on pace for almost 70 points and that's with below average PP.
no, middle of the pack. the rangers are kinda loaded with players who aren't stars in the making but will play an effective, simple and *physical* brand of hockey. also perreault who could be a lights out guyThat particular statement is in reference to the fact that our best guys younger than a 27 year old Fox (not saying he’s old, be he isn’t one of the young guys anymore either) are Laf and Cuylle. Period. Schneider? Maybe KAM if he ever remembers how to play? It wasn’t saying the guys on the roster won’t likely rebound a bit from this mess next season, but they’ll all be another year older and if you think there is anyone among Bread, Kreider, Vinny, Mika, JT or even Igor (turns 30 early next season) whom we haven’t already seen the best days from, I would have to disagree with that.
There’s nothing in the system. Zib, Tro and Miller are centers who are/were all bonafide top six players over the past 5 years. They’re all starting to decline to various degrees and there isn’t a single top six center prospect in the system. Not even a long shot one. Bread and Kreider is like 75 goals and 160 points per year. Perreault + Berard + Sykora isn’t replacing that. The particular sentence you picked out was only in regards to the bleakness of this team’s not so distant future. We will continue to have to rely on signing UFAs who have already played 75% of their best hockey to inflated contracts in order to make up for our desolate prospect pool. It never works. Bread was probably one of the best UFA signings of all time with how he produced for us, and it still didn’t work. Without looking, I have to imagine we are easily ranked among the worst prospect pools in the league. Bottom 5-10 for sure, if not worse, no?

who ya gonna call?.....
The solution is get a GM who doesn’t suck.
I think people are a having a hard time separating “Fox must go” from “Everyone must go”. Not trying to pick on Fox here at allwho ya gonna call?
bern meister !!!

What use is Fox on this team as currently constructed? Hes becoming more partner dependent and we don’t have assets to resolve thisWe will not recoup any assets that will come close to what Fox is. Maybe there's a reason why Fox would recoup assets. This is a ridiculous argument.
It’s both. Can’t do any of these half measure rebuilds again. And I’m not unhappy if Fox stats either, but he is their best tool to replenish assets. This is simply asset managementI've seen quite a few "we need a full scale rebuild and Fox must go". Plus, saying Fox must go is only marginally dumber than saying everyone must go because the dumb move there is Fox not friggin Reilly Smith or whoever. A guy being young and good gets you assets, those assets might even turn into someone young and good!
The UFA's are obvious moves but Panarin needs to be right behind them.
I know thats an offseason move but it needs to happen. More important than moving the Bromance or anyone else that you may deem to be a problem.

The idea that a full measure rebuild is some a priori superior way of building a team to me is asinine.
The Letter broke people’s brains
I don’t agree at all. The teams that have won recently are all either paced by top draft picks that have hit and/or no state income tax. We do not have either of these things. The idea that a full measure rebuild is some a priori superior way of building a team to me is asinine.

Whatever half baked nonsense we are doing now certainly isn’t the way either
Okay, so if we want to say predictors of success are irrelevant, what is this magic tool that the Rangers have, in this current form, that brings them to that level. Most of the billionaire tech entrepreneurs are software engineers so that means being a software engineer will make you a billionaire tech entrepreneur. Your logic.
They haven’t exactly hit, and there is certainly an argument they extended the wrong one and traded the wrong oneP.S. We have had two top two picks for years and one still on the roster.
