So is the plan to get Jones minutes to get scouted in Hartford then trade?

Nobody wants him. He's been on the block for months and allowed to talk to other teams. We've already seen numerous similar players waived/included as throw ins for a trade.

I would guess the most likely scenario is he is not qualified in the off-season and he signs a two way deal elsewhere.

I just want to see more physical improvements/commitment from Fox. He is a galaxy brain. A minor improvement physically would make him that much better.
When you are a slow skater gaining (or losing) a step means so much. If Fox finds a way to gain a step speed wise and comes in with super huge stamina/motor next season that could be a game changer for him and the Rangers.

Not going to completely embarrass him more than he already embarrassed himself, so I won't share his handle but he advertised it to the world in a thread on the trade board. But this is the level of idiocy that we see from our fanbase. "Muh 4 Nations Brady good, Adam bad."

This was a trade proposal from a RANGERS fan on the trade board:

To NYR:
Brady Tkachuk

To OTT:
Alexis Lafreniere
Adam Fox
Brennan Othmann

From 2008-2012, Girardi was -21 at even strength. Staal was -11.

Oops.
Your stats aren't actual correct.
Start of 08-12 end of season staal was +5
Start of 08-12 end of season girardi was +4

Start of 14-18 end of season staal was a + 40
Start of 14-18 end of season girardi was +56

Very nice demonstration of you attempting to cherrypick stats to try to make a point. Thanks for helping out.

Double oops

Some of the takes hurt my few remaining brain cells.

This proposal is lopsided for sure, but why are you assuming everyone's like for Brady and dislike for fox is bc of the 4 nations? Genuinely don't understand it. There have been plenty of people critical of fox for almost 2 years, and people from all fanbases have loved Brady for years. You can hate that but why are you trying to turn this into something only having to do with 4 nations??

Ridiculous thread. Wish I got to it earlier.

His stats are right and yours are wrong provided you properly read his post, which you did not.

You're both using the numbers wrong though as you should be using 5v5 only.

I would try to get a Tkachuk deal done with a package starting with Gabe and Schneider.

Sign a UFA defenseman. Trade Kreider.

Tkachuk JTM Laffy
Panarin Tro Berard
Cuylle Zibs Othmann
Edstrom Carrick Rempe/Sykora

Gavrikov Fox
KAM Borgen
Vaak UFA

I know it’s not likely but would that defense be good enough?

I think Ottawa would want the more proven commodity in Lafreniere and I wouldn’t have a problem with that. I also doubt Ottawa would trade him here if they are trading him before his nmc kicks in.

I think Hughes will learn from this tournament. It would be great to trade for his speed. I thought the Olympics was going to be played on NHL size rinks but I may have read that wrong.

He's too slight, and I'm not saying small I'm saying not physically strong. There's a difference between guys like Caufield, Zuccarello, St.Louis and guys like Jack Hughes. The guy needs to hit the gym to compensate for his small stature. If he could beef up a bit he wouldn't be so easy to throw around and he'd be able to win some corner battles, as it is he can't play against bigger players when the games get tight.

You are definitely right but he had success in the NHL including in the playoffs. I have been surprised he is still so quick after injuries. He is one of few guys that can create his own space plus he has a legit snap shot. NJ is probably not trading him anytime sooon but if he stays healthy Id like him as a NYR. He is fun to watch and should get stronger.

Also being totally glossed over for reasons that I maybe half understand is that this tournament didn’t actually matter. The players were literally playing for a cash prize and Rolexes.

If there wasn’t politically charged tension between the USA and Canada right now I’m not sure how much non-hockey fans would’ve actually given a shit about it.
You got it completely wrong if you think that players played for Rolexes. They played for national and personal pride very similar to what drives them in Olympic competition and SC playoffs. No one would argue that this is a made up competition to generate more revenue for the league, owners and streaming outlets that could have turned into another iteration of ASG but the players had another idea.

And it also had nothing to do with at the moment political tensions. This would be what media feeds to an average fan. Three fights and players playing through injuries were entirely about something else.

Maybe he’ll be able to find a one-way deal - that should be his goal in the offseason

He's great.

He sort of actually is what everyone imagined Faber is.
He’s untouchable more than Tkachuk is I’d bet.

They need a guy with upside who can play in the top 4. I guess that's why Byram keeps getting mentioned. He was a high draft pick.

Getting a top 4 defenseman would cure a lot of the issues with this team. There are more than enough forwards to get a good 12. Tiresome that we've been talking about it for a year and a half.

It's gotten really old. They just kind of decided the defense was set and took three years to realize Trouba sucks.

And then they swapped him for Borgen, which is lovely, but then kind of just went back into set again. They still haven't addressed the left side.

I think Miller is good enough playing with either Fox or Borgen, but they need somebody who can play with the other.

Rangers should be willing to trade Schneider for a LD with Borgen in the fold.

What about Sanderson from Ottawa. I thought he looked great in the Championship game. Only 22. That's the type of player we need.
@bernmeister was right about him.
He is a stud.
We don't have anything Ottawa would take in return for him. I mean maybe if Lafreniere was a legit a first line player plus plus
