I really do like our chances if we miraculously upgrade/dump Lindgren
All the hullabaloo about Harley’s numbers, wait till RB hears about Adam Fox’s numbers.Wyatt Johnston is one hell of a player but Adam Fox just needs a reliable partner and he's back to being one of the best in the league. He's on a much different level and weakening the back end is not the way forward. Miller / Lindgren are the trade bait. Not Adam Fox.
When Drury's trade memo leaked out the media and players responded like he had personally slapped their collective mothers in the face.
Adam Fox($9,500,000) to the Dallas Stars for Wyatt Johnston($894,167) and Thomas Harley($4,000,000). Math works.
I know it's not happening. It would a very good trade for both teams.
Dom has some nice numbers on Harley in this column today.

KMiller-Borgen
Miller is showing signs of progress. Four big D who can skate.
Johnston joins the Rangers younger forwards. Lafreniere. Cuylle. Othmann. Perreault. Edstrom. Rempe. They can learn from JT and Trocheck. There is a lot of hard edge there. Big and heavy hockey.
Swap out out Panarin, Kreider and Zibanejad.
Seriously I did a double take reading that sentence. I legit don’t know if I could name 3 things if I was feeling extremely generous. What ways does Ryan Lindgren contribute that people don’t appreciate?
Also I can assure you he has been much much much worse than you think he’s been.

not much offense to his game but he can be solid defensively. Maybe a similar situation to Borgen.
he's our worst defender on the boards. worst defender with the puck. worst offense. he's an elite ragdoll thoughSeriously I did a double take reading that sentence. I legit don’t know if I could name 3 things if I was feeling extremely generous.
He’s even bad at most of the things people glaze defensive defenseman over (clearing the crease, glass & out plays, etc.)
The people defending Lindgren (there admittedly are not many) are remembering an idea of a player, not the current iteration. There was a time Lindgren had the strength to hit guys hard and not get knocked down. he ended Joonas Donskoi's career with a hit back in the day.
But he's been nothing but a crash test dummy since he played through the high ankle sprain in the 2022 playoffs.
I think it could be argued "middling success" is overly generous to the Rangers. To my last breath, Espo as a Ranger and Ratelle/Park as Bruins just felt....horribly wrong.Don Sweeney in the house to see Kreider turn on the afterburners for the GWG. Kreider to Boston feels inevitable imo, even if it's in the summer.. It's the only place I think he'd be Ok going. Rangers have a history of swapping franchise heroes with the B's. Middling success at best.

That’s the same avenue that Allvin used for the Soucy memo. It’s a chat with all of the NHL GMs, so there’s a GM leaking this info directly to Friedman/Seravalli. It gets used all the time to put guys out there.Afaik Drury put that out on an internal league wide Slack or something similar. I'd be shocked if that shit didn't go out all the time for lots of teams just to get walked back later when people calmed down. I'm pretty sure a rogue leaker would be exiled from the league instantly.
The players were upset because Drury put it out there when he coulda just had a meeting and ripped them all new assholes. They're not wrong.
I'd like to see his analytics since 1/1 and how they compare to 10/1 - 12/31. I'm fairly certain they're better, I just don't know how much better.
Or some other team employee. These GM's have to realize that this type of chat is not confidential lmao. If you put out a name out there and don't think a GM is going to ask his assistant GM, his pro-scouts, his HEAD COACH about "should we look into this player", then I don't know what to tell you. Same goes for the Drury memo. That’s the same avenue that Allvin used for the Soucy memo. It’s a chat with all of the NHL GMs, so there’s a GM leaking this info directly to Friedman/Seravalli
Cuylle has been a 1.56 P/60 player (5v5) since the beginning of last season (not going to include his cup of coffee the season before).Take them off the first PP unit and Dubinsky/Callahan are both 30-35 point players.
It's pretty well established the insiders print what they're told and they know much, much more in terms of rumors. Just yesterday leaked a potential Alex Pietrangelo for William Nylander from 2018. Guess the statute of limitations passed on that but leaked at the time woulda been a literal months long story. That’s the same avenue that Allvin used for the Soucy memo. It’s a chat with all of the NHL GMs, so there’s a GM leaking this info directly to Friedman/Seravalli. It gets used all the time to put guys out there.
I get that the players were upset, but I’m also not sure what they were expecting. They all knew changes were looming if things didn’t go well
All we need is for a few select GMs to remember that idea of a player. What about Jaden Schwartz? I have always felt like he was a 25-30 goal scorer if healthy. 1 year left on his deal at around $5.5 millWhat about Bjorkstrand in Seattle? Havent watched im in awhile but I always thought he was one of those guys that did everything right and it looks like he's on track for another 50ish point season. One more year on his contract at $5.4m aav.
Kadri proceeded to feed him right after right, completely one sided fight. Good hit thoThe people defending Lindgren (there admittedly are not many) are remembering an idea of a player, not the current iteration. EH has Lindgren at around 46% before the new year and 43% after. I'd be interested in knowing why there's such a discrepancy between the two sites.Does NYRLouie from twitter post here? Bc that dude probably hates Lindgren more than I do and is doing the lords work enlightening the "scholars" on that app (which is a f***ing task.)
A tip of the hat to him.
Let me preface this by saying that this is pulled from NST as they're the only site I know that allows you to set things by date range. Take this how ever you want but I personally take their shit with a grain of salt because I've seen them count things as high danger chances that aren't and miss things that unquestionably are.
Since 1/1 (Ignore Jones, his only appearance since 1/1 was yesterday but maybe don't ignore Jones and actually give him a bit of burn?) -

I know people will jump at this and ay "DURR #2!" but consider that Laviolette broke up a legitimately dominant pairing in Fox-Miller (look at the gap between Fox and Lindgren here) so he could play his favorite toy more and just weaken everything across the board (Including reuniting Miller-Trouba, which had even worse than Lindgren impacts/results.) Lindgren did legitimately have a good stretch of like 8 games between the end of 2024 and the first few games (or first game?) of 2025.

(290 min for Lindgren-Fox and just under 260 for Miller-Fox so the TOI is similar.)
The SOS has been much, much, much more difficult since the new year and Lindgren has been f***ing disastrous. He and Fox haven't drawn the tough matchups 5v5 for years so a Lindgren apologist can't even lean on that. It's only come to light more recently because his mistakes are starting to end up in the back of the net on a regular basis.
Those mistakes have been there. He's been a compromised player since the beginning of last year.
He also sucks on the PK now too.
Team scouts will ensure their GM bosses are informed. All we need is for a few select GMs to remember that idea of a player. Please
Im not big into Zegras, but if Verbeek bites on Lindgren and change/Jones thats a no brainer.
Find another warm body or two on D and worry about the right guy later.
