Jones with a little extra pep in his step tonight.

He wants ice.

He wants out.

He has permission to seek a trade.

Nobody wants HIM

He looked fine scoring the SHG last night. The Rangers had casino night last week. Kreider took pictures with the fans. He didn't look to be bothered by a bad back.

All I see is a guy getting old and only putting out 100% effort once in a while.

If he's healthy enough to play in this 4 nations things then his apologists need to eat a sock. He has been terrible this year.

Couldn’t disagree more. Mika is -25 because he couldn’t keep up at center this season. He lost too many battles in key spots and turned the puck over all of the time. At RW, he’s in a better spot to win board battles in the D-zone on his strong side. And when he makes East-west passes, at least he’s on his forehand and the extra zip makes the pass more likely to go through. How many weak east-weat backhanded passes of his have been turnovers? Almost all of them?

JT also removes a lot of the weight of expectations off of Mika and that line, defensively, should be fine.

5 points in 2 games.

The Rangers will be lucky to get a decent draft pick for Jones. Maybe the Rangers can get back a player with a decent cap hit for Jones. The other team wants to dump the contract. Maybe they get back a rental.

Kreider is like many of the Rangers players. They have been terrible this season. Management should ship all of them out. Kakko and Chytil have been traded. They were not the problems. The other guys are still here.

Don Sweeney in the house to see Kreider turn on the afterburners for the GWG. Kreider to Boston feels inevitable imo, even if it's in the summer.. It's the only place I think he'd be Ok going. Rangers have a history of swapping franchise heroes with the B's. Middling success at best.

If Montreal waived Dvorak to save money NYR would probably pick him up ?

Also Jones has value . No way he’d clear waivers

I would. Send MTL back Zac Jones. Dvorak can fake it as the 3C the rest of the season until they upgrade this summer.

If Dvorak has that little value/makes it to waivers, the Rangers should absolutely get him. Vesey for Dvorak. The 2 times Dvorak has played on a decent team, he was a solid 3rd line center.

The percentages say what they say about the road to the playoffs, but the Rangers legitimately control their own destiny the rest of the way. Plenty of games in hand and games against teams we are chasing. If we defend well and the special teams get going, we'll be there. The 5v5 D has really improved the last month.

This isn't true.

The teams currently in position either have 1 game in hand on the Rangers (Tampa) or are only 1 up on NYR (Detroit) with no h2h left. It's quite the opposite of controlling their own destiny, they need help along the way+winning at a clip they haven't been able to sustain all year.

Tampa is going to easily pass Ottawa soon. They will have a divisional spot in the Atlantic. We have a game in hand on the Sens and only 6 points behind. The Red Wings will cool off soon. The only team that has shown capable of going on the run that we need over the past couple years is us. Ill put my money on the most experience team, which we are.

If you assume it takes roughly 100 points to make the playoffs, then the Rangers need to win 3 out of every 4 games over the final 29 games of the season.

Probably going to be more like 94-96.

It's still going to take them going on a run that they haven't been able to go on this year.

Their best chance is going to be in a situation where they're far enough out of it on TDL day where they move their rental property but not so far out of it that getting in will take a ridiculous run (5-6 points?)

Self renting Lindgren would effectively nuke their chances. He tried like hell to give the last 2 games away and had his prints all over their 3 game losing streak.
