This opens up a chance for Sykora or Chmelar to get a look if they move Vesey if/when they fall out of it which is cool.

But that line is really going to suffer with out Edstrom. He does so much of the heavy lifting in getting pucks up ice and defending the rush coming back the other way.

Rangers are better off playing Vesey with the hope he is enough as they work to get into playoff position by the trade deadline then re-evaluate OR he plays well thus providing himself some level of trade value at the deadline. I dont see the benefit of playing Berard on the 4th line in limited minutes unless Vesey completely falls on his face. Berard is still developing and needs real minutes. Obviously this holds even more true for Othmann.

Don't really know their needs but I am sure K'Andre would get it done for the ones who want him out.

Looked pretty engaged to me as well. It is what it is. I doubt the kid is gonna get much of a look when obviously the coach doesn't feel he's better than Brodz or Vesey even if his ceiling is way higher.
I would love to see more of that shot of his. No one on the team even comes close.

Everything has its place. If you want to get really reductive, goals are the only stat that matters since that's what games are decided by.

Andersson is a terrific player. How are we getting these guys? We are pretty much tapped out? No good picks anymore. I guess we could trade young prospects or roster guy like Lafreniere or Cuylle but I would rather not.

For sure.

However in terms of Rasmus Andersson, that is a move for next season as well. He is signed at a cap hit of $4.55 through next year. That AAV value is bananas, especially with the cap going up a bit next year. The cap is going to jump two more times with the bigger jumps starting after Andersson’s contract expires. He would be 30 at the start of his new contract, NYR could decide to extend him or move on. But he is a solid defenseman who fits the window.

Do we have what it takes to acquire, I don’t know. Don’t know if Othmann heading the package is appealing enough.

Yeah but the Rangers have Lindgren. Thats a bigger issue than the Isles missing Barzal or the Jackets missing Marchenko. It's not a question of whether or not he's going to f*** them out of wins between now and the TDL, it's how many wins is he going to f*** them out of.

They can probably afford to drop at maximum 10 more games between now and the end of the season.

I'm typically is pretty patient about timing of the moves, and at the start of the season was ok with giving Drury some leeway re moving on from Trouba and Lindgren. But given what transpired so far resulting in no wiggle room to lose more points - removing Lindgren from 1LD has become an urgency if there's a goal to save this season.
