The other guys are still here. I thought Chris wanted to break up the core group. Chris is doubling down on this same group. The Rangers are 5 points behind TB even in games played for the final WC. Another soon to be 32 year old center. Too bad the Rangers media members are afraid to ask a tough question. Typical Rangers. When Sam Rosen said this one will last a lifetime, he was being prophetic. Same shit. Quick fix. Let's hope people are gullible enough to buy it. Let's throw a distraction at them.

You're acting like you expected the Canucks were going to offer a ransom to take back Zibanejad and Drury just didn't think of it. It's almost like one trade wasn't going to fix everything.

Drury has blown up half of the core in 6 months by essentially waiving a magic wand on the cap sheet, yet people are still dissatisfied and asking if he is going to continue to make moves. He has not stopped making moves since December.

Dallas adds Ceci and Granlund. Thats some cap space that couldve been used on Kreider. But I think Chris is staying now. Part of this JT factor is a motivational tactic for Kreider. He still has good hockey left if he wants it. Hopefully an old war buddy returning reminds him who he is.

thanks I will look at that more closely, from what little I have seen, LAK want to upgrade
Rittich is ass
Kuemper is actually good, but not vez elite like Shesty

you got i'm presuming an undeveloped elc in Carter George
Copely and Portillo are mediocre at best

so enlighten me, what am I missing?

As to giving up youth, yes as to Tro
but netminders age differently so you are locked in on productive Igor 8 yrs, and other main piece Othmann is an elc ready to come on board

so it is not really wholesale surrender of youth for age, at least from a functional standpoint
“you got im presuming undeveloped elc carter george…”

Funny how you mention Rangers’ ELCs with such high regard, yet diminish other team’s prospects. Carter George is fairly high regarded, or at least Team Canada thought so. Maybe be a little less condescending.

They also have Hampton Slukynsky, who could end up being the best of all of them. Kuemper and Rittich have done pretty well for place holders. Portillo is their next #1 as soon as next season. They’ve got plenty at the position and have zero need to take on the highest paid goal tender for the next eight years.

There’s really nothing to read into this other than it’s obvious that the Kings are the wrong team to target in a trade to offload ( I don’t mean that derogatorily, Shesterkin is a great goal tender). They’ve already gone down a different path and are committed to it.

Since we’re essentially committed to this half ass plan of giving this core another run, Drury better f***ing go get a competent defensemen to play with Fox at the deadline.

That needs to be the number one priority.

Mika and Kreider decisions are almost certainly for the offseason. MAYBE Kreider could move at the deadline, but my guess is both will be moves after teams miss out on their free agency targets.

One actual top 4 LHD is the current roster's biggest deficiency besides the footspeed issue, which is roster-wide.

Holy crap a first and third for San Jose ?
Lindgren and smith should bring back similar return

We have no picks left! Like nothing
You wanna trade one of the young forwards in Hartford? Or Garand? Not sure i do

Chiming in on events…

First thought - annoyed that we dropped youth and picks for a 30+ player, not once…but TWICE in the same JTM trade tree. Gotta be a record, lol. CHYTIL is made of glass. MANCINI? Meh. I will be way more upset if we give the goddamn pens an unconditional 1st next year, because you KNOW it will hit. So, hope and pray they get the 2025. Why isn’t LINDY gone yet?

I admit that I like what I am seeing from DRURY so far. He is trying to re-make the team on the fly. And you can see by the makeup of players he drafts and trades for…he has a type. He has a template. I just really, really hope he keeps going in that direction. End the PANARINA era. Untie the prancing MIKA ponytail wrapped around our roster’s axle. Would LOVE to get a young C for CK at the TDL. I know DAL just made a move, so it won’t be exactly this, but something like a MAVRIK BOURQUE type kid and a conditional 2 (goes to 1 if they make WCF) would be an ideal like trade.

Need a LD to play first pair. IMO, a typical 1LD is not needed. Anyone with some size and avg skills will be a massive upgrade for poor FOX. All other things like: our UFAs for picks, maybe for once be a 3rd party and get a few picks by monetizing retention slots, and even getting a cheap rental…I’m open minded for.

This org is like crack. When they are hot…you can’t stop watching them. Fall apart?…you can’t stop watching them. Remake themselves on the fly?….just…can’t…stop, lol. They almost never win the grail. But drama. My god the drama. Are you not entertained? Of course you are, you silly. Especially you prickly tanky ones out there. Even better, it allows your voice to shine like a thousand suns. And c’mon….what’s more important than that….

i’m preparing for the kreider trade to barely be more of a return than the trouba trade. borque? bischel? yeah right.

i think just moving on will be addition by subtraction at this point

btw i doubt dallas is gonna trade for kreider now after getting granlund and ceci

My original post was discussing a harder or softer shot. I never mentioned more accurate or less accurate. Ray Bourque shot very hard. Rays hard shot never meant he had to be inaccurate. Nobody is telling guys to shoot softer by design imo. Cale shoot hard. JT shoots hard. Those hard shots are weapons not liabilities.
They are not encouraged because of reasons I mentioned. Players are encouraged NOT to shoot that way for reasons I’ve mentioned. So in essence, yes don’t wind up and shoot as hard as you can. If you need to interpret that as “shoot softer” yes, that’s the modern way.

Now I’ve gone around in circles as much as I can on this.

Good teams maximize everywhere and trading Lindgren and Smith is addition by subtraction.
Don’t disagree but selling and buying at the same time, if it doesn’t work out, invites scrutiny and Drury is about saving his job.
