The logical move now is to put Miller with Laf and Cuylle and AK with Panarin and Trochek because that line desperately needs a shooter. Then you can put the 2 BFF’s with Siddi on the third line and let them be a checking line. But knowing this organization they’ll try Miller on wing with the BFF’s and have Brodzinski center the third line.

I don't see banking on them to make *zero* moves to clear space particularly reasonable either. Especially when we know Drury wants to make changes and with the cap going up so much there will be plenty of teams that have available space to take on some of our cap hits if they want. Teams just took on Trouba/Goodrow for no reason this season which I'd have never believed possible.

Even if you dump a contract, you now have less premium assets to trade, and less cap space than you would have had when this team needs a drastic overhaul. It’s a poor trade just based on those facts.

It’s interesting to me that they decided to move a defensive prospect and not a forward. They have a glut of forwards but not much defensive depth. That tells me other moves may be lined up or being discussed that would bring in other d-men

It's because none of those guys matter. They're all insignificant prospects. 3rd pairing/4th line guys. Who really cares? You can get the equivalent off waivers of for late picks all the time. Kaliyev, Sprong, Boqvist, Perunovich etc.

He has less goals then Z at 5v5.

We gave up more than fair value for a guy that isn't capable of being the go to #1 center. He isn't barkov. And we gave all that up for a guy that was poison to his old team and had an NMC he wouldn't have for anyone else.

Drury is making this deal because he is going to build the team around Miller and Trocheck. The Mika/Kreider era is going to be over real quick.

For me, there’s a couple things.

1. I hate the philosophy behind this move. This team should not be moving packages to add. We ain’t winning shit.

2. At the very least, this makes the season a lot more interesting moving forward.

3. The value’s not that bad, at least. We all love Fil but he’s glass bones and paper skin. Mancini is a good prospect but dime a dozen especially with our right side as it is. The protections on the pick are really what makes a difference here.

It’s the Rangers with the highest paid goalie in the league, rebuilding is not a thought here. No rebuild in New York.

JT has more even strength points than Mika, both goals and assists, more points, same amount of goals and isn't going to have a panic attack during the game.
