Has there been any other team in recent history where players have come forward in the media to complain about how they are being handled in such a short period of time? Kakko. Vesey. Jones. Trouba kind of after his trade.

Maybe it's just me. But the coach doesn't want me to play. I'm still making my money. I don't need his approval. I don't need Drury's approval either. Get back to me if and when you change your mind. I might not even be that pissed about it. Not that I think that Mika's that way. He'd be more likely I think to pout and suffer. You think though everything is just easy. His feelings hurt---he waives his conditions.....why the f*** did he ask for them in the first place if he's going to be that easy? yes lots of people will knuckle under fast but having been in a couple different unions my way of looking at this---it's not just me that signed this f***ing thing....you signed it too. You own the team? So what. There are conditions that apply to both of us and if you're expecting me to live up to my end you'd better live up to yours.

That said if I'm a GM for another team looking at this player and knowing he has 5 more years at $8 mil per......there is just no f***ing way. No way at all....unless you're going to do something like give me your next 5 first round picks or something equivalent to that. Because I'm seeing a guy who's going to be a boat anchor too heavy for the boat.

If we’re being honest, Vesey is good enough to be playing and is one of the best 12 forwards on this team. So I have no issue with him being upset about it

A self respecting organization would have Vesey on waivers today. Publicly complaining to the media about you're ice time when you're a 31 year old 10 year vet isn't acceptable. But he probably has too many friends on the team for the rangers to have the balls to do that.

These cap increases are why I don't think it will be too difficult to move Mika if they want to. Teams will also want help hitting the floor. It's 70.6M next season. Current contracts have half the league under the floor.

It might also mean they look to keep him and see if he can turn it around/reinvent himself as a middle 6 guy.

8.5M would still be a lot for a 3rd liner, but basing it off of the current cap, it'd be like this for the next three seasons in 24-25 cap:

25-26: 7.87M
26-27: 7.2M
27-28: 6.6M

The team would need to actually buck up and be prepared to "upset the locker room" some more to trade Mika. Everyone's behind him apparently despite him playing like a triple A player called up from the NHL trying to show his stuff

This should be fun .....Fox for Pettersson . Rangers finally land the big C they lacked for a LONG time....not an easy thing to find . Then They run with Schneider-Borgen-Mancini on the right side and have Miller /Vak and have to sign another Dman in UFA that can carry the puck and QB a PP . Then they also purge Panarin -Mika and Kreider . Bring in Othmann and Perreault .and Berard . What other talented Dmen will be available in the next two seasons to replace Fox . Are there any ? Have fun with it .

That would certainly change the roster around LOL......This was suggested to me by a Leaf fan today . At first I thiought CRAZY...then I started to rethink it and I was aware how hard it is to find a #1 C and then I see the cap increases and figure we can find that Dman somewhere in the next two years in all likelihood .......

No. Petterson is damaged goods since the knee injury. His skating has declined dramatically. Look at his production before signing the big contract. Not interested in paying for his past performance especially at the cost of Fox.

As is finding the C . But you are correct...Fox would be hard to replace straight up ....so maybe it takes two of lesser value/talent level to get it done and then you have a defense by committee .

My cousin went to Casino Night yesterday, and I got a FaceTime call from him. All of a sudden Sam Rosen was on the FaceTime call talking to me lmao. Life highlight right there, Sam is in a class of his own.

My cousin said Quick was exceptionally nice. Said Laf was kind of acting too cool for school but I get it.

He went up to Edstrom and said that he’s the only guy on the team that could skate and when he was talking to Fox my cousin said we needed to get someone who could play with him lmfao. Said Fox smiled and just nodded.

And lastly, i asked if he went up to Mika. He said no, didn’t want to take a picture with that bum.

No outside motivation or fanfair, just pure grind it out do it attitude. Maybe we should make him our next coach, some of our players could learn a lot from his mindset.

I met Sam at a similar charity event a few years back and he could not have been a nicer, more down to earth guy. had a 10 minute convo with me like we had been friends for ages. It infuriates me that these gutless pukes are giving away his final season out of spite.
